Workaround for play now mode?

Sorry, did some searching and turned up nothing.....

Has anyone found a workaround for not being able to select the CPU's pitcher in Play Now? I've been messing with trying to use a second controller, but nothing seems to work so far.

Using the second controller hasn't worked? Or are you looking for another option?

You can use the second controller and when the game actually starts, move it back to center.

Or...go into the roster and put the pitcher you wish to face in the #1 slot and then go to play your game.

Those are the only two options I can think of.

If you use a second controller, you can select your team and put the other team on who you want to play. Hit start and when the voiceover guy starts talking about the two teams (before it gets to the field) hit start on either controller. Then hit start on the other one and from there you can select starting pitchers, line-ups, etc.

Then once the game starts, take the 2nd controller and pause the game. Go down to choose sides and put that controller in the middle controlling neither team, then says Ok to it saying you can't get achievements and hit start to unpause it and now you are controlling just the one team and you are playing the CPU.

Hope I made sense in all of that.

Thanks, made perfect sense! I just haven't read anything talking about it is all.....was just messing around on my own but didn't notice the choose sides. Maybe this would be good for a sticky??

There's an even easier method, without the need of a 2nd controller: go to roster management and adjust the lineup and rotation of the team you're gonna play against. Then hit the play now button....
