    If 2K were smart...

...or any other gaming company for that matter...

They would get the 10 most respected guys from here, OS, and bring them to their headquarters to tell the developers what the gamers want. Features, gameplay, graphics, etc... Just fly them out and have them volunteer their time so this game could be done right.

Too bad it will never happen... but just imagine if it could. Imagine the madness of a company actually taking into consideration the consumer's wants and needs in their product.

    Oh, the possibilities...

2K does a lot of things right but sometimes it seems like they don't strive to put out the best product that they can. As much as I love their games it always seems like it's lacking one thing or another.

This "game" is lacking a whole lot more than that.

If it was just one thing or even a few things, that's fine. But when you start talking about MAJOR, game-killing flaws, that's where the problem lies. I don't see patches fixing these issues, either.

Hopefully people don't listen to 2K's hype next year.

no need for 2K to bring people to them when all they have to do is read these forums for ideas. 2K was close with 2K7, they are heading in the wrong direction now...

Testing is something is sadly lacking in most sports game titles also. I don't know how some of these games have giant issues that are overlooked in that phase, yet are uncovered on release day. I know the community is bigger than the group testing, but sometimes I think the community IS the testers.

Here's hoping there is a patch. Otherwise it's back to MVP 2005....again.

If 2k was smart they'd offer Konami a nice chunk of change for their Professional Baseball Spirits game engine.

SCEA did that with MLB The Show. They had like 6 guys from this forum fly out the their headquarters and play the game and give feedback.

The problem is lack of development time with sports games. If developers had 2 years to put out games, there would be less bugs. I'm sure most of us would be happy to pay for yearly roster and schedule updates (maybe $20?) for a quality, bug-free game every 2 years. Unfortunately, it's never going to happen as long as companies can make money releasing a game, however bug-filled it is, every year.

Microsoft owns the rights to the High Heat engine. If only they would bring that back...

The thing with 2K is we gotta book flights now while they're still doing storyboards. They're about ready to begin Alpha stage. It's time to let them know things now before it's too late. With SCEA they could only get done the littlest of things in the stage they were in at that point.

I'm not saying SCEA needs to take a different approach, I'm just saying that their approach was simply different than what VC would need to do. SCEA has a proven solid franchise and wanted to preview their game to others. In this case, we would go down and throw down what it is that needs to be done.
