MLB 2K9 PC PATCH: Before I buy, WHEN can we expect?

Just curious, and Im sure many other PC potential buyers are curious about this one too. Before I make the investment in this game, has 2K announced any details of when we can expect a patch that addresses alot of the 'broken' and 'flawed' franchise things that was already patched on day 1 release for the consoles?

I think this is a dealbreaker for many including myself, so I am hoping at least we can get some sort of confirmation that its coming, in the works, etc so I can comfortably make a decision to make the purchase.

Also, since it isnt out yet....any chance we can see this patch incorporate some of the things that is being asked for in the console PATCH 2 requests (if it actually comes to be)

Such as:

- the overly aggressive swinging AI batters

- adding/unlocking customizable batting stances, swings and pitching windups for edits

-customizeable fielding camera

- any other glitches that people are expecting to be addressed


Come on 2K, I want to believe in you and invest in 2K9!

Yes and...the fact that it's only $20 shouldn't allow any further improvements and updates made to the game for the PC users?

No I didn't say that, but I wouldn't exactly call spending $20 on a game "investing". Also I'm not sure what kind of perfection you'd be looking for in a game that only cost you $20.

I agree that it should receive similar patching to it's console counterparts but frankly as some other users on this forum have pointed out: it's $20 and it's the only baseball title supporting PC gamers, why wouldn't you want to support it?

to be honest, i have a feeling the pc version is just SOL in terms of patching. There are modders out there however. Just give it some time.

Its not about the money, its about the time. I really don't care if a game is $20 or $60 what I care about is how much time I'm going to invest in it. Don't want to invest a ton of time into a game that is broken. I can make more money, hard to make more time.

fistofrage, made my point clearer then I did....its not about the $20. Its about wasting my time picking up a game that I may find to be fruitless if there are so many glaring franchise issues.

Im not demanding anything from 2K, Im simply asking for some information before I make my purchase. The franchise issues that were fixed on the console should also be addressed on the PC counterpart in my opinion. Im hoping that this is the case because I prefer the PC version over the console version due to the large aftermarket modding scene that can make this game even better

Eh no matter how much you spend you should be getting a product that isnt broken. This with the franchise bug, quite clearly is broken and when you consider that the PC has no online mode then people will be buying it for its offline functionality.

Hardly a ridiculous request when passing over money to buy a product.

NBA2K9 was the same price and it was patched for the PC. Why not MLB 2K9?

I'm not going to bite the bullet. If the game is broken then it needs to be fixed. Or else I want my money back!

What else are you going to spend your valuable time on? If you want a baseball game for your PC then buy it, if you don't then don't buy it.

This board is kind of ridiculous sometimes when it comes to people making complaints/decisions on games without even trying them out - it's like sports gaming university. Just because I like the game doesn't mean you will and just because so and so doesn't like this game doesn't mean you won't. There's never a reason not to TRY a game yourself.

there's been no official confirmation of a single update(patch, roster, etc.) EVER coming for the PC version

The NBA 2k PC patch took a few weeks longer to come out after the 360/PS3 version.

Well, I think the issue most have is the fact that the 2K admin over on their forums said there were no planned patches/fixes for the PC version.
This was never the case with the NBA game...they just came out later.

In fact, 2K9 on the PC is fantastic...much better than the consoles to me (as I'm sure you know...I think I've seen you over on the mod site as well).

Hopefully this game will at least get basic support it needs (fixes for the bugs they find and fix for the consoles).

Also, for those who tirelessly bring up the 20$ argument, I'm pretty sure the fact that the PC version has ZERO online functionality (and therefore no roster updates, and all that also) is a fair tradeoff for the price.

Yes the console should get priority, but the PC should be taken care of as well eventually. we'll see if they decide to do so.

I did not know that. Seems strange that they would not release a PC patch seems like it would be very little cost.
