This was never the case with the NBA game...they just came out later.
He also said there was no plans for a PC release 2 days before announcing MLB would be released for the PC

No offense to Ron, but I think he's a bit uninformed when he says things like that in Q&A sessions, and he seems sort of out of the loop sometimes when it comes to modern technology and how things are done.

In the Q&A, the reason he initially said there probably wouldn't be a patch for the PC version is because he thought the PC couldn't get a patch because it had "no online support" (such as XBL), so it seemed he thought that meant there would be no way for 2K to get the patch to their customers. I don't think it occured to him that PC users have a direct connection to the internet through their web browser and can download patches easily from sites such as File Front, File Planet, etc. But later in the Q&A, it seemed to dawn on him, and he retracted his statement about the PC patch not being possible.

Here are some quotes from the Q&A with Ron:

No, no...I get that. All I said is that he also stated that there were no plans for a PC patch right now.

Obviously that could change, but for the moment there is nothing in the works (I think I mentioned to you that Simballer told me the same thing...though he leaned towards the "one should follow after" line of thinking).

On a side note, here's some irony for you too. After swearing off a purchase of this game, the issue became moot for me. After checking my mail today, what did I find? The PC version of 2K9...lol.

Evidently, my buddy who I guilt tripped a couple weeks a go for not sending me a birthday present took it to heart (which means double irony, because we haven't swapped gifts since we were kiddos...lol). Now I have to get him something come April, I suppose.

Anyway, there's a longer story behind this, but the short version is I now have two copies of a baseball game I'm currently not too fond of in my house...lol. A rented copy for my 360, and now this PC version

Oh well...it's free (and was a thoughtful attempt) Maybe the modding guys will come up with some good stuff and make me actually open this thing...lol.

Not trying to be so negative, but with all the bugs and stripped down features, I'm not feeling too charitable towards this game at the moment.

I know you "get that". I just thought it was funny about why Ron said what he said .....and I mainly posted that for others who may not have known exactly what Ron said. I honestly don't think he really knows what the devs are working on or not, so I'd take most of what Ron says with a grain of salt.
