batting with pitcher view really pissing me off...

i like to bat from behind the pitcher view so its like youre watching the entire game on tv... but 2k has made it that wherever the catcher sets up, thats where the pitch always lands....its absolutely ridiculous. just cuz the catcher sets up in a certain place, doesnt mean the ball should end up there. i mean i know theyre pro pitchers and all but this just kills that view for me.

I play with the pitcher view when batting also and the AI pitchers do not always hit their spot, especially when throwing breaking balls but I just played against Josh Beckett and the Red Sox and there were numerous times when Varitek setup for a fastball away and Beckett threw a fastball on the inside part of the plate.

do u mind posting your cpu pitcher slider settings? and what is the level u started on before messing with the sliders? thanks...

maybe cuz i started out from legend, the pitcher is pinpoint perfect? its weird. i just took balls and strikes to see and the pitch landed every time in that exact spot where the catcher set up.

I have been using BFJ's slider set that was posted yesterday. I do not know if he made any changes but they are in the slider forum. Also, when I first played a few games I was playing with the default pro sliders and I still saw pitchers miss their spot. I wish there was an option to make the AI catcher just sit in the middle of plate on every pitch so you would not no what general direction the pitcher was trying to locate in.

I posted this in a different thread...

"I used to love the camera perspective in some of the older games like Bases Loaded for the NES and later on the Hardball series for the Sega Genesis where the camera is setup from the pitcher's perspective and offset a bit. To recreate this I have the following camera settings in MLB 2K9(I use these for both pitching and hitting)...

        Camera: Pitcher
        Zoom: 1
        Position: 10
        Height: 10
        Side: Normal

The game takes on a whole different feel with these settings. I also turn off the strikezone indicator. The only issue so far is it might be too easy to hit as you can see where the catcher sets up for every pitch but I am going to look into raising the pitch speed and hopefully coming up with some user hitting slider settings to offset this problem.

I have actually been getting pretty good results with BFJ's Spring Training Sliders."

BFJ has changed his CPU Pitching settings so you may need to play around with the sliders. I would suggest trying these...

          AI Pitch Success 25-50
          AI Strike Zone Tendency 15-25
          AI Pitch Zone Tendency 40-50

I have not tested enough to give you exact values but you should see better results with using adjustments within those variables.

Hi, if you turn off the cather suggestion on your side, it will turn it off the pitch indicators for the AI. They will still show you the location but the cather will not signal the pitch type. Also, try upping the pitch speed to 100.

            GL!

I have the exact same problem, it is coming to the general location the catcher sets up at, so you have an unfair advantage. I saw him setup outside and high last night and crushed a homer because I knew it was coming.

In the end though I didn't find his location helping me too much stats wise since the sliders I have make the pitcher miss the strike zone a decent amount. He may setup low and outside, but I found the CPU, depending on the pitcher, only gets it in the general area.
