I've played six games (the last 2 with Joe's Sliders) and have yet to a) hit a homerun or b) give up a home run. Any tips?

Try the practice mode to get the timing perfect and make sure you are using the left stick to influence fly balls. Personally, I like to zoom the camera in to about 8 or 9 to get a closer view which helps with timing, but that's just a personal preference.
You could always turn the power up a notch too

In my first game, on the default settings, I hit five two run bombs with the Mets and lost. Adjusted the sliders on my own, brought power down one or two notches, and got thes Sox got shelled 21 - 0 by the Rays. I added back those power notches and still no Sox HR in the second game either, so I redid the sliders (again). Have to redo them as in my second and third Mets games, have hit eleven HR.
