Question about A.I. agressiveness patch...
if they were going to release a patch for the ai agressivenes, would it be implemented into an ongoing franchise? i know that the living rosters and the cubs schedule fix wont affect ongoing franchises, so im wondering if this will. i dont want to start a franchise, and then have to start over in 6 weeks so i can actually get the computer toned down a bit.Tags: None -
Re: Question about A.I. agressiveness patch...
Patch? Where did you hear 2K is even considering that? The issue is player IE-related, so it would be a matter of adjusting player tendencies, as in roster adjustments. HUGE job, in other words, and I doubt 2K would direct the resources to a project that time consuming. Are you able to use roster updates in franchise mode without starting all over? -

You do realize that in programming and databases. It might be as simple as the range of thier walks spits out a rating to the IE from a calculation that might have one multiplier off and i gets typed and all the ratings are fixed. perhaps a 0 is in there.
Or at worst case is that the players need to be manually edited and one person could easily assign those ratings on paper in a day and a database entry clerk could have them typed in in what would be like another day right?
This doesnt have to take months. a few weeks for adjustments testing approval for Microsoft Sony etc.
And certainly your dismal outlook of definalty never is most probably wrong when VC already stated they know of it and ARE looking into it.
The biggest issue is not for you console guys but the seemingly unsupported PC version.Comment

Re: Question about A.I. agressiveness patch...
This is the same company that said they were aware of the slowdown issues with the PS3 version of 2K8 and were looking at options. But that was the last we ever heard from them. No patch was ever released to fix the PS3 version of the game. Or how about VC's other effort: NHL 2K9 and all its AI issues? No patch was ever released. So please, drop the "dismal" hyperbole. I deal with the reality, not wishful thinking.Comment

I smell a troll...
I think that they will patch the AI aggressiveness. Even though this game is made under a 2k umbrella, VC is a different company than the company that released 2k8. If we all sit tight and use some of the fine sliders already posted, I think everything will work itself down. If not, at least we have a good baseball game to play with.Comment

But a AI tend fix, is certainly not far fetched to see it get fixed with living rosters or a patch.
I do see where the guy thought he offended you. Your tone with your post is very negative sounding.
I don't understand the mentality of some users on here. They act as if these companies have a underlining agenda of "screwing" everyone over just to do it.
I am sorry, but they (ANY Company) are going to do everything they can to make its comsumers happy. Lossing sales would result of "screwing" people over. 2K can't take that kinda loss, so attacking them as if they are doing this on purpose is wrong.
Are things perfect? No - Will they attempt to fix the issues? Yes, I mean we got a patch on day 1 of the game. Come on, give the guys some slack.Comment

Agreed 100%. We'll get all the way to MLB 2K-10 talking about how things will get fixed.Comment

You are talking about two ENTIRLY different type of issues. Fixing a slow down issue might require tons of recoding and is not simple patch fix.

Why should we give them slack? They're not doing this for free.

LOL, you know how silly that sounds. From a marketing point-of-view, that is insane. Something might be tangled with other code making it either 1)To hard to fix 2) Causing more problems by fixing, thus resulting in more reprocusions than its worth.
But I won't go any deeper, I will just agree with you. 2K sports is out to get its consumer base.Comment

Yea, I forgot they are out to make people unhappy

God I hate this forum sometimes. Anytime you say anything negative about 2K, someone runs to the rescue.

Re: Question about A.I. agressiveness patch...
You also don't know if they did everything they could. They could of look at it and the code was tangled with other parts of the franchise, stats, draft, recruiting, etc etc that it would damage more parts of the game that it would be to fix it.
So basicly what I am saying is the whole talk of "EA/2K blah blah out to get the consumers" is soooo crazy. They are not making a point to make people unhappy. Are there things messed up in the game? Hell yes......Did they do it on purpose? I am sure not. From a business point of view you are not out to make LESS money. Upsetting your fan base is the first way to go under and I don't think they want to go under do you?Last edited by Phobia; 03-06-2009, 02:32 PM.Comment
