    substitution question

Twins(me) at Oakland. I have Mauer at DH and Redmond at catcher. In the 6th I pinch hit Kubel for Redmond. I think he ended up being the last out. Anyway, you can't ever do defensive subs until you are in the field and you can never makes subs/pitching changes between innings. So the inning begins with Kubel behind the plate. I go into defensive subs to switch him to DH and and Mauer to catcher, a simple swap. It says that I must remove Kubel from the game and put my pitcher into the batting order. Is that legitimate or is this a bug? Shouldn't I be able to move Mauer to catcher now and have Kubel at DH?

Also, is there anyway to make pitching changes between innings. I hate when I come into an inning and having to wait until the batter comes up to sub in the pitcher that is warming up. Is there a way to make it so my new pitcher comes out immediately at the beginngin of the inning instead of the pitcher I am removing?

I saw another thread that if you can do all these things through the quick menu interface (D pad down), instead of pushing start and doing it in the pause menu.

          Re: substitution question

the game is correct, if your DH enters the game in any way, the pitcher must replace his spot in the batting order, there is no swapping someone already in the game to DH.

The only way to replace the DH with another DH is to pinch hit directly for him. Because Kubel was already in the game, he can't go to DH

          Hope this answers your question
