Nick Markakis anyone?
HE ain't bad but he is the #1 RF (rated 90) in this game. interesting... i would think Vlad (also 90), Dye (87) Ordonez (89) are better than Nick.

Re: Nick Markakis anyone?
im a homer, but I agree with you. BUT I never understood why people always compare players by OVERALL rating in sports games. Its like reading the back of a book. Nick Markakis is not better than the players you mentioned at the plate, but you can definitely argue that he has way more tools in the outfield and speed than they do.Comment

Re: Nick Markakis anyone?
That is a foolish statement considering Vlad Guerrero is showing signs of declining and when you look at the two players closely Nick Markakis is the better overall player, especially defensively.

Yeah I have no real problem with this rating, being an Angels fan, I know Vlad is on his way down.Comment

Re: Nick Markakis anyone?
Markakis would be getting the type of props that some of the bigger names in the game get if he played with a contender/well-publicized team. He's the whole package and still very young to boot.Comment

Re: Nick Markakis anyone?
I'm actually glad to see the overall ratings become more holistic... in past games it seemed like every player's OVR rating was geared mostly toward hitting characteristics; defense and speed seemed to be minor considerations. This year it seems like the Overall ratings take into account a player's entire skill set, both at the plate and in the field, in a much more balanced way. I think this is a big improvement.
And Markakis is a quality young player; I can't think of another RF that I would definitely take over him right now.Comment

Re: Nick Markakis anyone?
Ichiro started more games(90) in RF than he did in CF(69) and has been predominantly a RF in his MLB career. However, if I had to pick a player today I would still say Markakis is the best overall RF in the game.Comment

Prince Fielder used to hit batting practice bombs in Yankee Stadium at age 12 or 13 when Cecil played there. Notice the key word in this sentence? BATTING PRACTICE.
Sounds kind of stupid that a player would rather hit singles than home runs.Comment
