    My HUGE issue with MLB2k9!

Ok, this is what ruins the game experience for me beyond all the glitches. I could overlook everything else but this problem makes it feel 'broke' to me and unplayable. No matter what sliders I use, this problem still exists, and it makes me want to rip all my hair out. I posted this at the 2ksports forums and I was banned for it

See if anyone knows what I'm talking about.

The gameplay, mainly the hitting; feels 'bottled'. Like, in all-star difficulty and sliders around that difficulty, it is a homer fest that results in a slugfest game after game after game. No variance. Now when its bumped up to Legend, hitting becomes unrealistically impossible just as it did on mlb 2k8. Most hitters cannot reach the warning track and the few that can hit with power do it rarely and it creates a frustrating experience. This skill setting and sliders I've seen on here create a gameplay where game after game after game you get 2-1 or 1-0 or 3-2 scores. No variance is seen. When I say no variance, you will not see a 10-8 or 15-4 game thrown in there. It is literally impossible. Also certain hitters cannot hit anything but weak grounders/pop flys. This grows frustrating and soon its not even close to fun.

I've tried a lot of the sliders, but I'm yet to see one where its like real baseball, meaning one game you can have a shutout of 1-0 or 2-0 and the next game you can have that realistic variance of a 13-10. It's all or nothing. Also with a lot of the sliders only the hitters with higher power ratings in the lineup are able to hit home runs. Once again unrealistic. Overall with the sliders I've witnessed on here you see a lot of close games like 5-4 or 6-5 but you don't see the realism variance of being able to get a slugfest and those weaker hitters in the lineup really are a complete non factor.

This is no one's fault, especially those who create the sliders. Further its just what makes it a broken game to me.

Does anyone feel this 'bottled' that I'm talking about?

I cannot even comment on this because what makes this game unplayable for me is the fact when you pitch with studs like the highest overall pitcher in the game I.E. Johan Santana, he misses his spots in the 1st innings, cant strike anyone out and get shelled, sorry but this is the game killer for me

I have to agree the pitching is not as bad as the one guy said with sliders I can have good games and bad games but when it comes to hitting there is not middle ground either I cant hit schit or I hit way to much. Also there is no variance in game to game scores whatsoever. It really make the game bland and unfun(if thats even a word).

so is there any set of sliders that provides this variance I speak of or not?

I don't know why no one is talking about this.... its the single biggest problem with this game that there is.

Instead of talking about it here, some of us have chosen to try sliders and work together to fix this problem. I, too, saw this problem having impossible hitting games and then the very next game I would bust out 15 runs on 30 hits.

I'm telling you, try BFJ's sliders and observe a few house rules (no one likes them, I know) I NEVER press up on the L-stick while batting. I've hit about a HR a game, sometimes I have 3 HR's other times I have none. You can check out my last game in his thread.

I set my sliders at pro and then put my power level at the legend level and have now played 3 games. 1-5 6-7 and 4-3 with late inning heroics by Mauer, casilla and gomez. 2 strike outs each game.
