I tried to hold back but I couldn't resist!!!!!

First off let me start by saying that I am a MASSIVE fan of 2KSports and will always believe that they are the originators of what we know today as "Sim Sports gaming". Thank you for taking my money time and time again without fail.

However.........Today I payed my brother a visit as I have not seen him in quite some time. As i walk in the door I hear the beautiful sound of baseball coming through the surround sound speakers. I pay it no mind as I was distracted by other things at the time.

Low and behold I decide to take a gander down the stairs after grabbing some food and I immediately notice that this game sounds alot different the what I have been playing the last few days (MLB 2K9). I immediately shift my focus to the TV and see an absolutely STUNNING game of baseball being played on the 50" LCD HD TV. Needless to say my hands (holding my plate) immediately start to shake as i fumble to utter the words "WTF is this you are playing? (Mean while I know it can only be one other game but I had to hear him say it) My brother proceeds to tell me it's MLB 09 The show and I fall on the couch immediately with the most dumb founded look on my face.

Guys....I hate to say it but man.....there is truly no comparison with these 2 games. MLB The Show is quite honestly the most outstanding looking/playing/simulation baseball game we will ever see. I was so blown away I had to reheat my food about 4 times before settling to finally eat it. Talk about having to ask yourself whether you are watching a TV broadcast or a videogame! Absolutely astonishing!

People want to talk about the little things? Here's an example...I am a Torontonian so of course I had to use our beloved Blue Birds for a game against Sox. At the end of the game the PA announcer came on to thank the crowd for their participation. So I am there thinking "ok....no biggie" boy was I wrong. Do you know this MOFO went on to tell the fans that there will be extra subway service to ACTUAL local stations and ACTUAL streets in this city?!?! I literally coughed up my food when I heard that and my brother started laughing! I can sit here for hours and list more but this is a small example of the little things on top of the stellar gameplay and franchise options this game offers.

If there is anytime that I will buy a system to play one game it's right now! I know you all are going to hate me for "coming into the MLB 2K9 forum and talking about MLB 09 the show". This is just a humble encounter I had that I felt the need to share because this game is truly a thing of beauty. All true baseball fans want to have this game at there disposal and need it in there life.

Sorry for the long rant but I had to get this off my chest. I will officially be "selling out" as The Show will be the baseball game of choice for me this year and beyond. I assure you MANY MORE people as well.

Once again....Thank you 2Ksports for years of enjoyment but it's time to step up your game

The show is a great game but you should have posted this on the show board. This is a 2k9 board. No offense but we don't want to hear how great teh show is here. Threads like this really need to stop. If we want to know we can go over to that board.

Any serious gamer knew that this years 2ksports was going to be junk. I did.

Like I said.....I am a fan of 2Ksports titles and have MLB 2K9 myself. I have nothing against them. However the truth of the matter is MLB 09 The show is great and 2K has a long road ahead of them in order to get to this level. I hoped this would not be the case but unfortunately it is.

I think in order to have a better game next year people need to be honest and say whats on their minds, rather than getting there panties in bunch because another title is being compared to it. If 2KSports cares enough they will take heed to both the good and the bad in order to make the necessary changes needed.

As a owner of both games, I totally agree with you man. But 2k is on the right path and hopefully next year they'll fix their game.

see this is the thing, both systems (360 and ps3) are both new generation systems right? and actually i heard the 360 had more depth than the ps3, so why is the show 09 on ps3 such a unbelievable game and mlb 2k9 is so far behind them? i just dont get it. and i keep hearing how great virtual concepts is and they are the people who made 2k9. u know it was gonna be bad when a patch was ready for ya soon as you put in the game, when you 1st got it...
