    Possible AI Agressiveness Fix

This is something that I found while playing the demo, since I don't have the full game yet (if anyone is looking to sell on 360, pm me).

Anyways, when pitching, let the catcher call the game for you. However, only pay attention to the spots that he is calling, and not necessarily the pitches. You can decide what pitch you want to throw. However, factor in the break/movement on the pitch that you want to throw and position the ball icon such that the ball will end up in the catcher's mitt after its break. Again, do not necessarily throw the pitch that the catcher suggests, but merely make sure that whatever pitch you throw hits the catcher's glove squarely.

In my last 3-inning demo with Cole Hamels, I gave up three hits and had four strikeouts (two of them looking). This included at least 5-6 foul balls by the AI. A lot of people are complaining about AI agressiveness, lack of foul balls, and lack of strikeouts. Try this if you have anyone of these problems.

**Disclaimer: I don't know if the retail version plays similarly to the demo, so if it does not, please discount any and all of my suggestions

Thanks for trying (honestly...I mean it. This is not meant to be a smart a$$ comment. The more attempts, the better I guess) but I think you're missing the gripes with the aggression (along with similarly suggested "fixes").

The issue is the CPU will attack the strikezone like each pitch is the last he'll see. You can tone it down by using IE (which is were those catcher's calls are rooted), mixing pitches, nibbling corners, etc. It's still much too aggressive when trying to come into the strikezone, however...regardless of pitch counts.

The good news is you're on the right track in terms of what you actually CAN do in the game to try to at least tone down some of the overall aggression issues. The problem is just more deeply rooted than I think you realize, unfortunately.

If you haven't already, check out the stickied Inside Edge thread at the top of the page. There's good discussion on some of these points there, and also some additional tips to reducing (still not fixing though) the amount of CPU swings...at least outside and on the edges of the zone.

Just tossing that out there in case you actually intend to purchase the retail copy

That's a pretty good way to sum up the problem. It's like every batter thinks he has 2 strikes on him.

And if I see one more thread saying they have a fix, I'm gonna whip my dog.

Haha, thanks for pointing that out guys. I guess that the issue is a lot worse than I initially thought that it was. Funny thing is, I still seem to be enjoying this game a lot, so I am willing to try anything that will fix the issues that this game has. As you pointed out (I also just read the IE thread) this issue is a lot deeper than any single one of us can fix.

Sorry about proclaiming yet another fix to the AI Aggressiveness, I just thought that I actually had found something. I guess not

Please don't do that. LOL I hear you though, but it is cool that some people are getting the game to play well for them despite what others are experiencing. Sounds like it is more of a problem to most though.
