It's the area code. He was a top fielder in the Cleveland area.

I'm seeing this as well. In my franchise, Pujols was the NL MVP in 216. It's amazing he's still playing nearly 1800 years later.

I don't know if it can be corrected by the roster updates... I used to see that a lot, but now I am seeing it correctly (Top Fielder in 2008)..

Just saw it in my Texas/Cleveland opening day game..

I do think the roster updates may have corrected it (and cleaned up the look of players' shoes and black helmets), but if you already started a franchise prior to the updates, it still says 216 in the franchise.

In franchise mode mine sometimes says top fielder in 2255. I was like "wow starting a franchise automatically puts you 246 years in the future, Interesting".

Well, I for one am glad to know that even in the distant future baseball still exists. I guess 2k does too...hmm.
