    Interesting observation...

Sure, maybe it was a coincidence. Maybe it was a one-off thing. Maybe it was just a random fluke. But I just played three innings of the game with the classics teams and it felt like I was playing a different game. I got several full counts with my pitcher. The CPU batters weren't going for silly pitches. Great pitch count, great hits, great pitching. This was not simply placebo.
Maybe I'm restating what's already known or stating the obvious, but is there something here?
Do higher quality players bat more intelligently?
And if so, are the major leaguers in the game simply made too "dumb" as hitters?
Which in turn begs the question... if we tweak certain characteristics to make them higher, can't we create the same results as I had in the Legends game? Has anyone thought of this?

i think we should not have to result to mass editing and the sort. its 2k's fault for putting out a sub par game.

Oh, I agree. Absolutely we shouldn't have to. Totally uncool. But that's not my point. My point is that as far as I'm concerned, this is the first time I've even noticed something like this that could possibly be a definitive answer, however irritating. It makes me wonder: is there a player characteristic for "plate discipline" or "plate vision"

There is an attribute to cover this and it's been tested by raising it with little to no improvement in results.

Here's my question. Do the classic teams have IE scouting reports for the players?

If no, then that is likely your answer...meaning IE is your culprit. If yes, then I dunno what the difference is...lol.

So, what are you saying, then? That IE on the batters actually makes it worse?

Do the classic players have "D'' walk ratings like all the current players do?
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

why put the greatest players to ever play in a game only to screw up their signature windups and batting stances. 2 years in a row of the same generic windups and stances on most of these dudes. just simply LAZY AND INSULTING

I don't know about the walk ratings. I'll check. And max, we all agree but let's keep it on this topic so we can try to get somewhere with this.

It seems there is an issue with the IE walk ratings, which effect how the AI approaches it's ABs.

The fact that IE is the primary determinant in AI behavior, it would make sense that if IE for the classics was not available, then you'd see a better approach at the plate (provided ratings bear out).

Most have D walk rating, and they do indeed swing at first pitch for 2 innings straight. o welllls patch is a must .
