    Pitch speed too slow?

I am using BFJ's sliders, pitch speed at 100, and the speed is still way too slow and too easy to hit, anyone else find this? I guess I'll have to go the cursor hitting route but dissappointing they made the pitch speed so slow.

The other issue I have is how easy it is to pitch, I have turned on release timing, turned off the stike zone, but I am still holding the CPU to almost a shut out every game? Any suggestions to make pitching harder?

IMO BFJs sliders are a good base, but CPU offense is lacking...If you're having an easy time pitching its probably because the CPU isn't getting many hits, or scoring many runs off you. Increase your CPUs offensive capabilities.

I posted my sliders in the "Franchise Progress" thread, and I've been seeing a good amount of CPU offense. I lost last night 7-5 as the Royals vs CLE.

You're right, pitch speed is slow. The cursor hitting makes it more palatable since you have more work to do pre-pitch, but it's a shame it's so slow overall.

As for pitching, I'm having the same issues. Too easy. I'm gonna hunt up JBH3's sliders though (thans for the heads up, JBH3) and see what he's got going on there.

i think the pitch speed, from the view behind the pitcher, looks too slow, but behind the batter looks ok. I'm on 80 with cursor hitting, and think i'm going to have to drop that down a bit.

with the swing stick, i can see the pitch speed being too slow, but not with the cursor just yet!!

The issue is VC lowered the speed of fastballs as they were in 2K8, and there's now very difference between a 70 mph and 90 mph pitch. You can test this by creating a player and giving him the appropriate pitches. Even with a fastball speed rating of 100, it still has the visual speed of an slider or whatever. I assume this was yet another concession to the casual, pick-up-and-play gamer -- making the game easier for the general public/kids.

I posted this in another topic earlier last week, If you find the pitching to be TOO SLOW:

            Go into Camera Settings

            BATTER VIEW
            ZOOM: 1
HEIGHT: 4, 5, or 6 depending on preference

This should give a nice forlonged perspective that gives the pitches a much better sense of speed when coming in. I had to turn it down from 100 because I felt it was too fast for me, but this should help.

Well, that's an interesting solution. But zooming the camera out also moves the batter forward, making him appear smaller. And he's already too small for my liking, even with the camera at default.

The PS2 version. After the disaster that was MLB 2K6, I got fed up and purchased a PS2 for the first time. One of the best investments I've made as far as gaming goes. MLB 09 is a terrific game. And 100 pitch speed in that game is nice and fast.
