This review is prefaced by the fact that I bought this game and then sold it back after 2 weeks. Please keep any discussion of this to being mature.
I thought that this game plays extremely well. I enjoyed the graphics, the frame rate and everything in regards to actual gameplay outside of those bugs (1st base bag, dropping a fly ball, etc.). However, the inability to edit players was a HUGE mistake and these living rosters are not that useful when if done correctly from the outset (making minor leaguers like their real life counterparts and relying on the community to update the rosters and post them on 2Kshare) are completely unnecessary. Franchise mode was also a big letdown, thought I admittedly only made it to the offseason once and didn't really care at that point.
Now, one thing that can't be argued is this game was originally designed to be the final installment of the baseball game that took them 3 years to build. My issue was why do you need to start all the way back at step .5? I say .5 b/c locked players for editing sets this game back in time, can't remember the last game you couldn't edit players. Now, in tough economic times, they continue to charge 60 dollars for a product that is completely unfinished. I don't feel 2K will feel this this year (because people have already bought the game), but next year they will find a lot of people will not purchase their games (I will never buy another 2K game again, reason next paragraph).
I posted a message in their community on 2K asking an admin to address an issue I had. I never attacked them (in my opinion), but was looking for an answer. I continued to bump this for about a week or two and never got a response despite him being active in other threads. I also couldn't connect to an online game after playing a ton of games one night and was referred to an online FAQ or 2K sports. The online FAQ was not existent. I posted a message on the forums and it was completely disregarded. In my mind, they have given me an inferior product, and then treated me like crap, so that is the ingredients of a company that will not be getting any more of my money.
I am glad that some of you are enjoying this game (I wish I could since I ended up losing half of the value after selling it back) and all the more power to you.
