Both of these problems are unfortunate, but haven't affected gameplay for me.

For misplaying fly balls, the answer is simple: get the player to the spot, and gradually release the stick to allow him into a canned catching animation. Then, for added assurance, always load a throw to a bag. Do these two things and you will hardly ever see this bug.

For slowdown, there is no way to stop this, but I find that it only happens as a way to make the animations work so that your player is in the right place when the ball hits. So when I'm running to a ball, and my guy slows down, I just keep holding the analog stick in the same direction, knowing he will make it in time.

Does anyone disagree with either of these?

The stick is real sensitive in this game, so you just gotta be real careful fielding.

However, the slowdown in animation and gameplay with fielders at times, especially outifleders is just ,,,,bad. I hope that's something patchable.

Very big help there, thank you much, 1 more thing, what about on fast liners to the outfield? Basically same thing just lighly hold the stick towards the location?

This doesn't help for when the AI misplays flyballs though......which I've seen happen more than a few times.

Very true jeffy

But i hate when they hit a liner to me and my outfielder misplays is horribly and they get a triple and open the doors to a big inning, hurts my pitchers season ERA's and thats horrible

They just look stupid this year in the outfield, they should of kept last years exact fielding, it was great

the other night i was going after a fly ball i thought i wasnt going to catch up to. i pressed the left trigger and the fielder increased his speed. its not in the manual, but he did speed up. the only reason i hit the left trigger is bc of habbit from madden. i watched the reply and i could see the fielder increase his speed when i pressed the button. i have been using it since. i have also started using the X button for diving catches. i have gotten good diving lately.

Are you serious? I knew there had to be a speed burst somewhere. Fielding has been one of the major issues for me in this game. Game is still fun, but the fielding has cost me runs that shouldn't have happened. Or it could just be Manny, which would be realistic.

I think you're referring to Right Trigger, which Madden uses for speed. And out of habit I did too, pressed the trigger, and it really did seem to speed up in some cases. Not sure if it really works or not, wouldn't hurt to try.
