If 2k patches this game...

I'm thinking of picking it up. I rented it a while back and it was ok, but just wondering what people think this game will be like if they fix the issues. Do you think it will be a comparable game to the show? I'd rather save myself the money vs buying a ps3 is why I ask. Please don't flame me for asking this question. I'm looking for honest opinion of how good this game can be if they fix the glaring problems.

First off they are patching this game. Second off I happen to enjoy this game very much. This game can only get better once they release the patch. I am very anxious to see every part of the game they are patching up. Obvoiously the big one is the CPU aggressiveness. I think with this change alone it makes this game that much better.

agreed the only major complaint I have is the freezing issues. I have lost 3 games or 3 1/2 hours of play time so far and that kinda gets under my skin. I will be estatic if the patch fixes all the little things. A possible 9.5 score.

I would never say buy a PS3 just for one game. people tell me to do that and I tell them they are dumb for saying it.

No one has a definite date for the Patch, and the Patch details just say certain things will be tweaked, such as the 1st basemen glitch. So what does tweak mean?? idk, still not convinced

If you do not have a PS3 then it is definately worth picking up. Even without another patch it is fun. In my opinion(not trying to offend anyone), and it's just an opinion, 2k9 will never be as good as the show. But 2k9 is definately worth purchasing if your a baseball fan.

You've had freezing issues? I haven't had the game freeze once besides in the 97, 98, or 99th rounds of the fantasy draft. That is just a glitch though. Hopefully they will fix that with the patch.

It would depend on the extent of the patch. I mean right now I enjoy the game a bunch, if the aggresivness is addressed, the fielding glitches are fixed I would be very happy. a 9.5 could be overstepping a bit but, I really like the game and they are making the patch sound like a fix all or at least a tweak all.

and I have had the game freeze at the end of at least 4 games after the game so I have to replay the entire game again, one game went like 14 innings.

well it really depends on what you like. I like to have fun and to me 2k is more fun whereas sometimes the show seems like a lot of work. With cursor hitting 2k to me is more fun. but Now that I stopped getting first base glitch by using the right stick I've been having more fun. If you're looking for an easy game to get into then pick this one up. if you want the most realistic game to get into then get the show if you have a ps3. personally I don't think it's a gameseller. not alone anyway. with the patch it can only get better and if you're looking for a good, cheap(it's only 40 bucks now I hear) and fun game it's worth the pickup.

19.99 for the pc version includes the potential for some great mods and is pretty good before patches and mods.I have been into mvp for years and this game seems as good as it ootb in many ways. I think it can be better than "the show" or the old mvp when certain mod sites have at it for a while!:wink:

Meaning him coming off the bag is supposed to happen at times, but its just way to frequent for some people. So it should be tweaked to happen less.
