2k really should have had a hurry-up OFF/ON option for custom games online..
like many, I think the best thing about this years game is the real time world atmosphere and presentation. unfortunately, in online games you get none of it and can't even see a player round the bases on a HR! I understand they want to shorten games for ranked, but for unranked custom games they should add the option to turn hurry-up mode OFF. If the user doesnt want such a long game he can always set the innings to 7 isntead of 9. I'd rather have that and the atmosphere than 9 bland innings. sure I'll skip the fluff in between pitches since I cant stand the ghastly snap-into-batting-stance flubs in animation, but I love all of the other stuff...especially the great camera views of the stadiums from down the 3rd base stands etc. the in-between inning transitions even cut off the announcers as they talk becasue they do it so quick, seems excessive. I just think, the more options you give the user the better...this year they seem to have taken the opposite approach..
also, has anyone gotten a game winning hit online? does it at least show the runner cross the plate? I have not had one yet. I just feel bad for all those folks who only play online (a lot of people never play one offline game), as they'll never even see all the extra stuff that VC obviously worked very hard on. seems odd...patch #3 perhaps?
