Why I am leaning to 2K9

I have the Show 09 and its a great game. But I think after the patch I will play my season on 2K9 and sell the other. Reason...not the usual I think. For one I love the fact I can control all 30 teams. This means even if the Mets bomb as in real life I can play the playoffs and the World Series as whoever. Also in 2 words Gary Thorne! I miss this guy doing my Met games as he has "that voice" that makes me feel the game. Dave Campbell and the Show crew are not my cup of tea.

So i also hope they fi the edit player thing...as that we all want 100% MLB AAA AA A teams!

Good to see some Show players switching the 2K. Its a great game, sad it needs patches to make it great. Really should hire some good game testers and not release the game till its ready. Remember the old days when games would get pushed back a week or 2 weeks cause of flaws, now they set a release dats 8 months in advance and then ship it no matter what.

FYI, you can play any game on the schedule in The Show... so that point is moot. Anyway, to each their own, not trying to influence you.

Nah im sure its serious. 2K does have a fun great game after flaws are patched up. I personally pick it over the Show also

Not an April Fools joke.....I forgot that was today. I really am leaning toward the 2K. As someone said above...yes dueing the season you can play any game. But I believe like last year if your team is out you can't play the playoffs or series as another team. With 2K letting choose all 30 teams that problem is solved. I think based on what I heard about the patch 2 the major issues are gone. So whether I play or cpu vs cpu a season it should reflect the real game. In no way am I knocking the Show but I again just like the feel of 2K

I just ran thru a short season as the royals (just sim every game till end) I was not able to play the playoffs as the teams that made it. I LOVE the Show do not get me wrong...but its a pet peev of mine. I don't have the time to play multiple seasons and hope I get in the post season...so when your out it sort of kills the game/fun for me. While there is lot of things better in the show 2K is not horrible and for me 30 team control and again Gary Thorne are it...enjoy your choice also

I just simmed my Nats, finished last, played all the playoff games and can now play the NYM vs. NYY in the world series. Not trying to dissuade you, but you probably didn't look at the other teams schedule when you finished your season.

I find it amusing that people think its a joke just because you dont see things their way. lol

Beleive it or not I have NEVER played another game more than a few weeks. Even in the worst of MLB2k years. Id rather just not play a baseball game.

I dont know how to explain, but 2k games feel more alive to me. I have tried to force myself to play EA and Sonys offering, but I grow bored quickly. Their games feel mechanical and just flat out boring compared to even the worst 2k baseball titles.


I even went as far as buying a PS3 and renting the show last year. Returned the PS3 within a week. Boring......... As I said its hard to explain. The show IS more realistic, but its not more "alive" and its not fun to me. The game feels almost too "tight" if that makes any sense? Weather its the annual flaws or by design, 2k games always have randomness to them and that feels "real" to me. Nothing is routine.
