Patch #3 Wishlist

While I simply love 2K9, and patch #2 has made a good game even better, I have a couple of main wishes if there is a patch #3 to improve the gameplay even more:

1) Tweak the stolen base slide animations so runners that are called out (and should be safe) will be called safe. The stolen base mechanics are outstanding, but right now, most runners are called out when near half should be safe. It is because the slide animation does no have them reach the bag when they should....it needs to be adjusted.

2) CPU Diving plays....while I have seen a few more knock downs since the patch...there seems to be a few to many incredible diving plays...sometimes 2-3 a game by the same player.

Those are my tweaks. Thanks 2K team!

Games are limited to 2 patches. There was one on release day for online and this new one therefore they won't put a 3rd one out

I agree with this, totally!!! It seems as long as i can remember, that every baseball game that came out had this issue!! All cpu fielders seem like gold glove winners. Seems they need a slower reaction time, or something. Seems like they have more trouble with the balls that are hit right at them, then the ones they have to range and dive for!!!!

I have call of duty world at war and they have had 3 patches already so dont tell people games are limited to only 2 patches, thats just wrong info

gee I have call of duty wow as well and have received 2 pathches only....ask anyone in 2k if they can release a 3rd

If u are talking pc then that is a diff ball game

Anyone know why they are only allowed to release two patches? I think I heard something about if developers wanted to release more than two patches it will start costing them, which would mean we would have to pay for them. Anyone confirm this?

It has to do with the limits tha ms and psn allow a company to have for games. They don't want to allow companies to not make the best possible game because they would know they can just patch it all year long. Therefore they allow just 2

While I can see why MS and Sony would do this they shouldn't limit the number of patches, rather they should limit how many patches are released during a pre-set of months.

Meaning, 2k Sports can release 4 patches within, say, a 3 month period. I only wish they followed that schedule rather than only two patches total.

Call of duty for xbox 360 released a patch for the original under the map castle glitch, a patch for the new under the map glithces on castre/downfall/sellow, then whent he map pack came out a 3rd patch was released. so yes 3 for COD - WAW

I only have seen 2 so far but what I stated was not false and it was stated last year. Go back and tell me a sports game that has had 3 patches or more. And if the 3rd patch for cod wow was for the new map pack then that is an exception because that is making money

The map pack was not a patch. You downloaded the map pack but then when you signed on you got a patch which fixed the spawn problem. There was 3 patches

I don't believe at all VC will put an effort for a 3rd patch, but the limit of 2 patches could be circumvented by masking another patch as DLC. Madden made a try, but failed.....

I wish for a Online Franchise instead of Season. I understand a patch wont do that but still a wish

I wish my SP didnt get hurt every game in my franchise mode.

Um...I don't believe this.

1) Ron went on 2k the day after the second patch was released and started another thread gathering info on what else needs to be fixed or at least looked into.

2) PC games are constantly patched and while they do have a subscription (kinda like Xbox Live) that may cover the costs a big reason why they don't have a lot of patches for most sports games is due to the extra time they are working on that game and not on next year's version.

This game was released broken plain and simple and needed at least two patches to even make it playable. To simply ignore the other problems they created by not including features included in EVERY other baseball game and releasing at best a beta version of the game would be a huge mistake. If they don't have a third patch then they might as well not make another game next year.

Wishlist
'
1. Allow full editing of all players
2. Remove the editing cap
3. Fix the stats that show up as the players walk to the plate (haven't seen it fixed yet)

There are other issues but they have already been mentioned more than once on this board and on 2K's board.

Fix Franchise Mode. Specifically:

1. 1-day injury bug
2. Duplicate players (I had one Ted Lilly on my starting rotation and one in my bullpen)
3. Not sure what can be done, but the sim engine is a bit messed up...25 saves lead the league?
4. Fix drafted players...no more 5' 8" prospects!
5. Make the Top 100 Prospect list work
6. Fix the bug in which players have to be sent to the minors to be taken off of the DL
