    Hitting?

I just got this game a few days ago and was wanting to know how the hitting actually worked. Is it only based on timing of the swing?
Also any advice on getting more extra base hits?

    Thanks

I honestly think the hitting is scripted - no BS. I analyzed the hell out of hit replays and I swear the ball interacts with the bat in a scripted manner. That's one of the reasons I can't play the game anymore.

Those batting success sliders - As you lower them, you get more foul balls and less base hits. So, I set those sliders at 20. I watched some replays of hits. The bat would hit the ball square as hell and it was a foul tip. On the other end of the spectrum, I saw solid base hits even though the bat actually never touched the damn ball in the replay and in actual real time. The ball was like a foot away from the end of the bat. It just didn't make sense. I couldn't overlook it. I noticed it a lot with Alfonso Soriano for some strange reason. It's like his bat was magical or some ****.

Anyway, I've read on this forum some people want more run producing hits. I acheived a pretty good level of realism with my sliders. Set the batting success sliders to 25, the contact sliders to 0, and the power sliders to like 75. It yeilds realistic hits and scoring situations. It also yeild a more realistic amount of foul balls.

I hate how 2K did the sliders this year - all those influence sliders make the game scripted.
