Classic Pitching, am I doing it right

You hold down the button and the circle gets bigger, then you click the button again when it is really big or do you just let go? Then you press when the circle is as small as possible?

you press in and then let go after circle expands, the bigger the circle the more effort, so u decide when to release....then hit button again at its smallest.
