    Hit stick failing to react

Anybody experience this: I'm using the hit stick, but in the last couple of games, there have been several instances where I push up and my batter doesn't swing. But then the next pitch or two it will work properly.

I didn't experience this my first few games. I've been messing around with sliders and options and wonder if I inadvertently turned something on/off.

Any help would be appreciated because I can't figure this out.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

Make sure that you are pushing straight up on the stick. If you push it more to a 10 or 2 o'clock position, the batter won't swing. When this happens, take a second and see where the stick is positioned.

Thanks. That might be it. I was pushing it at times in the 10 or 2 o clock position thinking that would influence the direction of the ball, but I guess you can only influence that with the left stick, right?

I have never had the hitstick not react, but i have had the pitching not react. I gave up 2 home runs in a game a few min ago because of it. a 3 run and 2 run shot. I was pissed, but i did some research after and i figured out if you move the stick from the start a bit to far in the wrong direction it does that and you either end up throwing a meatball or a wild wild pitch. I just happend to throw 2 meatball and paid dearly for it.

Yeah...I've had it happen a couple times. It seems to be a bit less forgiving (though not impossibly so) since the most recent patch. There's a greater chance to miss your gesture now.

At least it's handled better and doesn't result in a flat out "meatball" down the pipe like last year, and actually mostly comes off as a less effective pitch...as it should.

My Swing Stick has not worked correctly since day 1. Last year's 2k8, i just pushed up from 6 o'clock to the 12 o'clock position, and had no issues.... not this year. From day one I have had to push down to 6 o'clock, and ride up the right hand side of the stick's range of motion, kind of like throwing the uppercut in Fight Night. Doing this, I never had an issue, but it certainly was tougher than just pushing straight up...

Now that I have switched to Cursor Hitting, I toggled on the Classic setting, so I just hit A to swing.

If you haven't tried Cursor hitting, you have no idea what you are missing... The quality and variety of hits is unreal.
