I could not pitch at all using Pedro, he was sporting an ERA of like 6, and a 3-4 record... plus he was making 75 BP/year, so I had to deal him to the Cardinals since they had a lot of financial room. Oh, I'm playing a drafted franchise... I dealt Pedro and Harang for Jason Marquis and Juan Cruz.... at least now I got like 51 BP of space and i'm still winning. Anyone else have to do something like this in their franchise?

Nothing so dramatic, but I traded away Reggie Sanders for two prospects because he's only under contract for one year. The major reason was to get a second baseman prospect since I didn't have any, and Pokey Reese has glaucoma until next year (I love those magical medical treatments that cure everything on opening day the next year)

Even though I had Pedro, Mulder has been my ace.. and when I tried to trade Pedro straight up for RJ or Schilling I keep getting the "I don't care what you offer, we're not dealing _________!" So then I tried Pedro and a scrub for a decent SP and one with higher potential.... no luck, no one wanted to take on that contract, so I was forced to look at teams' budgets and offer teams that had payrolls WAY under the projected income, so St. Louie is was.
LOL, so you gonna buy Pokey that big bag of herb for his baseball injury?

This is why I use the Twins( I am a huge fan though) they have almost 100 BP left too! I havent made any trades yet, but during the offseason, I'll trade Rick Reed and A.J. for the pitcher who has the best stuff and most potential in the draft, or i'll get Mark Prior.The best thing is..i can afford it easily..
