Is there anyway to take someone off the DL?
Lets say someone is injured for only 12 days. You put him on the 15 day DL, and it says hes fully healed, yet you still have to wait 3 more days for the DL time to expire.

Re: Is there anyway to take someone off the DL?
How are injuries in the game I have been playing with them off cause I heard some bad things about it. Like people get lots of injuries to big players or the guy who had his whole starting rotation on the dl. I also heard guys can get stuck after they heal. Are any of these things true or is the injury system ok in this game?Comment

same with fielders, etc. low durability player running into a wall will equal injury.
my first franchise season, I had tons of injuries, my 2nd season I only have 1 so far.
I dont put players on the dl unless they have an injury thats longer than 60 days, cause players do tend to stay on the dl alot longer than the amount stated. they do eventually come off the dl.Comment

I started my franchise over and turned injuries off when Johan Santana got injured for 1 day and never healed. I even skipped his turn in the rotation at one point, and he still didnt heal.Comment

Re: Is there anyway to take someone off the DL?
yeah, i was reading of all the injury "bugs" and decided to play my franchise with injuries "off" (first time i have ever done this with a sports game). I'm playing with the Yankees with my franchise, so what i do is whenever the "real life" Yankees go through injuries, i just send that person down to the minors and call up whoever the real yanks call up. For instance Posada and Molina are both on the DL, so until they are off of the DL in real life, I have them in AAA and called up Cervelli and Cash to my team. I just use this to get a sense of realism with injuries in my franchise, without the bugs.JUST WIN BABY!!Comment

Re: Is there anyway to take someone off the DL?
I've said countless times, on numerous threads, that when this occurs, sim through to the next day w/ injuries OFF. It corrects the problem, and then you can turn injuries back ON w/o having to worry about this constant "injured for 1 day remaining' thing affecting your players.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: Is there anyway to take someone off the DL?
I tried this w/ Billy Wagner and Tim Hudson early on in my franchise's first season...
Then, in a game against the Mets in May, I had them right where I wanted them late in the game w/ Utley/Howard/Ibanez coming up to bat....Who takes the mound for NYM in the 7th???
Billy Wagner - the same guy I sent to single A, but the cpu moved up to the majors after a few weeks.
So...doing this will require a lot of work from the user. You'll have to constantly check the league transactions, or roster of "team X" to see if they've called up someone who you're trying to simulate an injury for.
Not worth it IMO.Last edited by JBH3; 06-01-2009, 10:31 AM.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: Is there anyway to take someone off the DL?
This isn't a 100% surefire way to simulate injuries as it comes w/ still some work for the user.... Because the cpu WILL call them back up into the big leagues.

No, i'm only doing this for my user controlled team. I should have clarified that in my first post. I wanted a way of using the yankees with some injury possibilities and thought i would do it this way. Can def see where this would be a lot of user work if you were doing it for the whole league!!JUST WIN BABY!!Comment
