Re: WOW...I just picked up MLB 2K7! LOL...its the best of the bunch

I've shied away from the newer games as well, and I feel I made a good choice. However, I'm completely unable to find current rosters, and I'm no good at making my own. Does anyone know of a good updated roster I can download and put onto the X360 via Xport?
I downloaded the one that GG made, but it seems very large for a roster file (245MB).

    Thanks!

Ok, I guess on 2k9 you have a limit of teams you can make up ,such as old teams 86 mets and so on..
Is it the same way with 2k7?? Because I would LOVE to make great teams like 95 Braves or 71 Pirates 75 reds and so on.
Also how is the Sim? Real?
      this is for PC...

I liked 2k7 for the most part. But two major complaints:

          1. The fielding cursor, white streak, whatever you call is, is hard to pick up. It's too light, making it tough to get a jump on the ball.

          2. The inability to play other teams' games in franchise mode. I hate games where you're stuck playing just the team you control. It gets old.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

"What? You can't challenge a scoring play?''

The best baseball experience i had in a video game was this one. 2K7 was MONEY online. Many great games, good and bad. Also, tuning the sliders in offline mode, made it a really good sim game. Yeah, i know the fielding was a bit shaky, but overall, it was a really solid baseball game. I really wish they would've improved the crowds and the in-game sound, because sometimes the stadium sounded dead. But overall, game was great. Beats 2K8 and 2K9 by a MILE. I can't see why 2K can't see that.

Biggest problem with the game is there is an excessive amount of homeruns. It's so easy to belt one.

Also the fielding is pretty glitchy and there's way too many successful "highlight reel" dives by the computer.

Inside Edge is horrible as well. It'll give you 3 spots that the pitcher is likely to throw in, then they'll throw in a spot that was never put on there more times than not.

The association is bad as well. Every star player demands a trade unless they get a contract extension. Every star player has a fight with their manager "on the radio" etc. It gets old, and it has a ugly interface.

Other than that, it's a good game. Probably less worrisome than 2K8 and 2K9. Hopefully 2K10 breaks the curse and puts out a good game.

MLB 2K7 best of the next gen bunch. I picked it up after the framerate problems of 2k8. When 2k9 came out, I waited till I found out what people thought, and most people think 2k9 is a joke, so I'm still playing 2k7.

2K7 is great, until 2k gets it right, I'm going to be playing 7. Sure It has it's problems with the freezing in franchise to playoffs mode, but other than that, I really like 2k7. I don't understand why they went away from a lot of what worked in that game. It also has an actual GREAT world series celebration, as 2k9 from what I hear has pretty much nothing but a banner sign with words like the old sega days, lol
Games I'm playing FOREVER: NFL2K5, That is all.

                    2k9?yes! 2k8? Hell no!

2k7 had the worst hit variety ever. The game got boring cause I saw the same hits every game...Single up the middle,HR, or double over an outfielders head. I rarely saw balls hit down the line or in the gap, or between the 3B & SS or 2B & 1B.

I do miss some things from 2k7 though...Like A.I steals and that pitching option that was actually challenging...I forgot what it was called, but it was two lines with circles on them, and you had to try and connect the circles before they crossed each other...It got harder to do as your pitches stamina decreased throughout the course of the game. I wish 2k8 had that pitching option.
