    too few walks and too many strikeouts in wsb2k3

    I am using Xcell's WSB 2K3 slider settings, and the only three things that I am disappointed with are:

    (a) far too few walks by both teams;

    (b) far too many strikeouts by the cpu.

    (c) cpu doesn't attempt enough steals. they are rare.

    I am using timed hitting, cursor is just too difficult for me, and I don't think it is all that realistic. I have turned off vibration, which obviously makes pitching more difficult. What's cool is that it also adds mistique to just how far drives to the outfield are going. I'm batting in Catcher-Medium mode, and pitching in Pitcher-Camera mode.

    There will never be a super amount of walks in a game, why? Because we, as gamers, are not patient and swing at anything. You strike out, because you don't see the ball.

        Sorry, I meant that the CPU strikes out too much. I strike out a little, but nearly as much as the cpu. If the pitches weren't all so close to the strike zone, than we would see more walks. Otherwise, why even include walks as part of the game. Why don't they just come up with a fast-pitch-softball or slow-pitch-softball type of game?

        Anyway, I agree with you that we as gamers are too eager to knock the ball around the park. I try hard to not pay attention to the walks stats, and am just about getting to that point with strikeouts stats.

            move the computer hitting average, cpu eye for strikes and balls sliders up and that may fix your problem. play at legend and use the custom settings in the ai sliders slot.

                I am using the legend and custom sliders I'll try the other thiings you metioned, though. I may just be damn good at this game. Today Danny Graves threw a complete game shutout, allowing four hits and striking out five.

                My favorite thing with Graves is that sinker pitch of his. I love throwing that pitch down and away. It just looks cool, and often they go after it.

                By the way, anyone watch the Reds pull out a dramatic victory over the Braves? Bob Boone needs to be fired, he just doesn't know how to manage a lineup, or team for that matter.
