Small issue that I have with WSB 2K3... doubles

Is it just me or there isn't a lot of doubles being hit in the game. Am I the only one having this problem and if I am not, what have you done to rectify the issue? I had Shannon Stewart and another player be among the leaders in hits in the league but none of my players were even close to being on the leader board in doubles.

It seems to be also a problem for the AI. I sometimes get to the ball slower than usual when I feel it should be a double.

I was having a hard time earlier in my season getting doubles, but I've found that it helps to master the power swing. That way the outfielders will have a lesser chance of cutting the ball off before it scoops through the gap. I'm now 7th in the NL in doubles, with Helton leading the majors.

I think the game balances well between Singles, Doubles, triples, and homers. You should check their ratings for Doubles and Triples. That might have something to do with why they get alot.

The thing is I am able to get doubles when I use Power Pro Hitting but I stike out about 13 tiems while using this method. Can't seem to get them with Standard hitting. The only reasoin why my players get doubles is because I simulate half the games. If not I'd be deas last.

I tend to get a nice bit of doubles using timed hitting.... I didn't notice it being a really scarce thing to get.

maybe I need to try timed hitting cause I've only played with it once and I got 17 hits in the game.

I use regular cursor hitting, and I have gotten excellent results regarding doubles.

However, I edited the roster of my team, and I also edited all of the OF's ranges. League wide.

I am using the Astros, and I have 92 or 93 doubles in 49 games so far and lead the NL by one over Montreal. In fact all of my numbers are great, and comparable to what Houston is actually doing (BA, HR's , etc.) Jeff Kent either leads the NL w/ 18 doubles, or is close to the lead, which is close to reality.

By editing the Outfielders rangers, you will see more hits down the line and gaps go through. It looks very real as well, as some are line drives that are obviously going through, and some look like the OF migh get to but just barely get by. I am also pleased by the varity, as some go over the OF's head, some down the lines etc.

I also find that I get some with a regular swing and some with power, so that is satisfactory as well.
Just my 2cents but I noticed a problem early on, and I think I found the solution. You also could increase the 2b rating for your players by say 5 points and see how that helps.

By how much have you edited to outfielders' ranges league-wide? And by doing that has it created an high amount of triples that shouldn't have happened?
