Can I get some positive feedback on the game?

I have The Show but am getting rid of my PS3 because it's all I ever play on it and it's stale. I tried the demo for 2K8 and was really put off, I've been bored so I tried the demo for 2K9 and I have to say I'm kind of into it. At first I really didn't like the pitching and batting mechanics, but after giving it some time I enjoy the challenge of it. It kind of feels like real pitching and real batting, more so than button pushing I suppose. I have since puchased it off amazon and will be getting it on thursday. I think I heard once that one of the producers came from EA's MVP series, is that true? If so then I have to believe the game is going in the right direction. I guess I just want to know if there are people out there that really like the game, are still playing, and can look past the issues?

I'm still playing it and I like it alot, I have never played the show so I cant compare, I'm using mkharsh33 latest rosters aand sliders from the decoding the sliders thread.

Playing a franchise with the Pirates and I'm 12-12 so far.

The play by play and color guys are great and really give the feel the game is on TV.

I have this game coming to me from Goozex, and I'm looking forward to it, to! Already have the Show on PSP, and it's a great game, too. The batting is kind of hard on the small screen, so I'm thinking maybe 2k9 on my HDTV is just the ticket.

its not a bad game, the gameplay is pretty fun even with the one glitch where an outfielder misses a fly ball here and there. I just wish that we could edit the batter's stances ourselves instead of going on the 2k forums to tell them to change them.

Haven't played in a while but, I truly enjoy the game.
          Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

I love this game. The gameplay is very good and challenging, the graphics are nice, the atmosphere is much better than 2k8. The real time atmosphere is a thing of beauty. It's not perfect but I am still playing this game and will be up until the release of MLB 2k10. VC did a really good job in just one cycle IN MY MOST HUMBLE OPINION.

I agree, I think 2k has a style that some people just can't get used to. It plays a very good game of baseball and looks good too.

Played my first few games yesterday, I started out on all-star, simmed to todays date and I'm in 2nd in the AL central. I got crushed in my first game 10-0. I had a couple outfield mishaps that I feel will be limited as I get used to the game. I expected them from what I have read, but I did not expect to have such a tough time batting (which I enjoyed). Lost my 2nd game 5-0. I played better defense, I had 1 outfield mishap, still had trouble hitting. I am enjoying the game alot more than I thought I would though. I feel like it's only going to take a couple more games before I get the hang of it.

on the outfield errors, I found that if your moving the guy around when the ball gets there it will not get caught sometimes, I found that if you just move the guy into the general area of the indicator and let go of everything, he will take over from there with positioning himself to make the catch, if you have to dive or something you have to do that yourself. fielder ratings mean alot to, if you got a bum in left field or something(IE Marcus Thames) he will be more likely to mis-play a ball.

I just played a very enjoyable game,(IMO) but I lost against Oakland. It went 14 innings, 0-0 until I hit a solo HR with Thames to go up 1-0. I had 0 erros in this game by the way (yeah). I had brought Minor in in the 13th after I already used Rodney to get out of the 12th. So bottom of the 14th I give up a leadoff double (figures). I intentionally walk Suzuki. The next guy bunts, I throw him out. Intentionally walk the next guy to lrad the bases, 1 out. I get a sick strikeout with Minors composure all over the place for the 2nd out. I then I give up a 2 run single to lose the game. Enjoyable nonetheless, I haven't won a game yet, my previouse game I lost on a squeeze play that was pretty sweet. So my personal record is 0-4 but I'm 3.5 games out on August 25th. I'm getting better, I'm having a blast. The game ended with DET 9 hits OAK 12 hits. Nobody could string any together. Galaraga was lights out for 9 innings for me too.

They've been giving stances to players that originally had a default one? Which players got new stances?

i just downloaded some nice sliders, for me at least, and i am really enjoying it. i tried to get some that allowed me to still get the cards, but i just wasn't enjoying the game overall.

there are some really cool things in the game. i may still tweak the sliders, but as i learn the game, there are a lot of things i can do that make me feel in control batting like i did with MVP 05.

I had a lot of fun with this game. I miss the editing and I wish some other things could be fixed, some small (could I please get a ball to splash into water in KC or SF?) and some large (could I please hit homeruns every now and again with someone besides Justin Morneau with the Twins)? With that said, I played this game out. It's the first time I remember playing every game of an entire playoffs with my team. They were exhilarating.
