I have hope. Visual Concepts took a step in the right direction with 2K9 and another year of only development can only help.

I also have no reason to own a PS3 other than The Show - and cannot justify $360 for a baseball game.

i have no expectations whatsoever...this game is too flawed, and it appears that the developers have shrugged their shoulders and given up.

i will not be purchasing this on release, and if i see a lot of the same issues i won't buy it. 2k9 is an embarrassment, and they aren't listening to their customers. very sad...

Im hopeful, if it gets cleaned up, I think its going to be a great game. I know I'm late to the party just getting it and all, but I'm enjoying it alot. I have a PS3 just to play The Show and it's a great game but I needed a change.

I have absolutely no confidence in 2K's ability to put out a good baseball game, so I won't be purchasing 2k10. Since I don't have a PS3, unfortunately, I'll have to go without a baseball game.

I'd be willing to bet the developers of 2k9 and previous 2k baseball efforts secretly play The Show.

It's too bad they haven't been able to learn anything from it.

One of the best things about the knowledge I was getting a PS3 slim was the fact that I would no longer have to deal with a bug-riddled,lazily designed baseball title for another year.After 4 years I no longer have any faith that 2k can release a quality "sim" baseball title that works correctly from day one

Why do people say crap like this ?

I'm gonna tell you what you already know. MLB '09 The Show is not the only game worth getting for PS3. Plus, it plays Blu-Ray movies.

It's worth the money.

Depends on who you are talking about though. I do not really play any games besides sports games, so I'm only missing out on the show. I don't watch blu ray movies either. I prefer playing games on the 360(mostly because of controller), so I'd only be getting a ps3 for the show. I don't play online either, so the free online wouldn't do anything for me either.

I said the same thing but I got upset with 2k9 and I am a diehard baseball fan. Found a used PS3 and bought the show never having played it before. After playing it continuously for months, I would honestly spend $600 on that one game. Its just that good. It will take at least 10 more years for the 2k series to even be competitive. Sorry, just my opinion. Also, The Show developers actually listen to the customers also. That is one of the main reasons it is so much better.

I bet even the 2k developers get tired of playing their glitch-fest of a game, MLB 2k9. After a few innings of awkward fielding animations, flyballs hitting outfielders in the head, infielders failing to break on the ball, inability to steal a base to save your life, inability to draw a walk, the ease of throwing strikes, the lack of home runs .... they probably say '#$%& it! Let's play the Show.''

I can't blame them. I just wish they'd learn something from that game.

I have a PS3 and MLB 09 The Show as well. Great game! I picked up 2K9 (PS3) for $20 recently and I actually like the pitching/batter interface and commentary better than The Show's. However, steep decline from there. 2K9's graphics on the PS3 are abysmal (even in 1080I) and the animations need a lot of work as well (no anti-aliasing and quirky animations). If VC addresses these and some of the AI issues, believe the game will be much improved next year. Just my two cents.

But with the exception of The Show all the other games (most) come out for the 360.

Believe me I traded in the game 45 mins after i bought it. lol
3 months later i was dieing to play a baseball game on my 360 i started going online and looking at the patches and decided to buy it. i think its alright now 6.5/10.
