Steve Phillips Fired from ESPN: What Does This Mean For MLB 2K10

from what i recalled when most of you found out that he was going to be doing the commentary, no one was particularly thrilled..so i take it there will be a replacement, maybe getting someone else from baseball tonight like john kruk or something? what are your thoughts or predictions for who could take his spot.

i say leave him in the game...i'd rather watch one his homemade movies than to watch my outfielder drop his 6th fly ball of the game...

It'll be the same as 2K9. They never updated the commentary from 2K5 to 2K8 -- that's four years of the same dated references about players winning MVP awards and having great seasons the previous year, etc. Even the PA announcer in 2K8 talked about some upcoming scheduled event happening in 2006. I would guess the next time they update the commentary will be about the time the Xbox 720 and PS4 are hitting store shelves.

It wont change unless MLB forces 2k to do it being EA owns ESPN rights but I believe Phillips was a free agent on this kinda of like when John and joe morgan continued to do MLB 2k even after EA bought out ESPN rights deal.
Oh and 2k really doesnt add much to announcing each year .

i dont think thats true at all. While alot of the lines will be the same, i think its going to be more like the NBA commentary to where they talk about games that happened the day before. All my opinion of course, i dont know anything on this years commentary.

Well according to Pasta Padre, it will affect the commentary. 2k is scrambling according to him.

Love stuff that's posted as news that isn't news at all.

Steve Phillips is one lucky dude, being able to get with that hot babe. She has that Jessica Alba look about her.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

Unless the gameplay is actually good next year, it won't matter if Mickey Mouse and Steven Wright do the commentary.

Besides, by next March nobody will care about this story.

except he doesnt really know anything. He just reports what others do usually.

I just dont think its going to change. If they had OJ in a video game, then Phillip's should be ok. lol
