Has anyone else seriously given this a shot? I've played over 200 games with the real teams and was bored lately so I figured I might as well give this feature a try. I've played a month now with the "fictionalized" Yanks and I've got to say that its actually pretty cool. I have one nasty player, a 19 year old CF that's 100 overall.
I simmed one year and he hit .329 with 43 homers and 118 RBI and I finished in LAST place in the AL East with the Devil Rays finishing with the best record in the majors! Eventually they lost to in the World Series to the Reds. Anyway, the whole league is cool, it feels like you're playing in the 1920's or something. There are tons of pitchers with HUGE, slow breaking pitches. Alot more screwballers and knuckleballers. Then there are pitchers that throw 102 mph (I've got one of those, and even though he's a 66 overall he's my best starter, yet lowest rated...go figure.) and nothing else. There are all kinds of humorous names, Freddie Kruger is the cleanup hitter for the A's, the Twins starting rotation includes Joe Dimaggio and Frank Sinatra. All kinds of old school names: Pops, Lefty, Deacon
, and Red. You hit a few too many homers, but the CPU goes just as nuts. The Devil Rays hit grand slams, yes grand slams, in three straight games against me. Unbelievable. The average score is like 12-10 each game, even with the same sliders I use for very realistic stats with real teams. All kinds of crazy comebacks and stuff, it's almost feels like a Little League game. Overall, I think its a nice little switch and almost like a totally different game. If you're bored, then definately give this a try. Probably the most overlooked feature of the game, I had totally ignored it for 4 months but am pleasantly suprised with it right now.

is leading the HR race with 72. I also reset the record books so the new league players could get some records. Catfish James is the new saves leader and Satchel McGulligud is the all time hit leader.
