If you guys consider yourselves baseball fans you should already own a PS3. Every year you keep dropping $60 on this game which could be going towards a PS3. That's my take.

You're right especially since they are $300, but not all of us can put down the $300+ for a PS3 and the show.

Will be a day one purchase for me. I'm the odd duck that found after some slider tweaking, both 2K8 and 2K9 were pretty good. The pitching was better in 2K8, but the overall production was better in 2K9.

Wish we could get a read on what kind of features are being tweaked, removed, or added.

Might not be a day one purchase, but I'll likely buy it. Like you, after a good slider set I had a lot of fun. After I figured out what bugged free agency, not putting any FA's on the market, I had a good time. Unfortunately these "fixing" of things became too time consuming, and I wasn't able to actually play the game as much as I would've liked to. Then Madden and NBA2k10 drops and 2K9 is a distant memory.

If NBA2k10 is any indication of where VC can go w/ their baseball title then "The Show" needs to be put on notice. NBA2k10 is quite possibly the best sports game, let alone basketball game, that I've ever played.

If so after you downloaded the patch did it Freeze your game?

I completely agree here. NBA2K10 is without a doubt the best sports game I have ever played. It's the first game in a while where I am completely addicted and actually staying up to get a game (or at least part of a game) in. If VC can get their baseball game to that level, we have something. There's a ton of work, but after playing last year's game a little, there is at least hope. Would love to have 2 baseball games again.

I highly doubt that March 31st is the date that they'll release it. Call me crazy, but I suspect 2K Games mainly cares about sales over quality (especially with their baseball series. . .I'm pretty sure they don't have the greatest confidence with it). And if so, they are NOT going to allow The Show that much of a head start, even if it's only a "real" competition on the PS3 (not to mention how impulse buyers may get impatient enough to break down and purchase the greatness that is The Show).

LOL, this is funny to me. The Show has nothin' to worry about at all. It's not a hunch. It's truth. MLB 2K10 is not gonna be some - ya know - night and day difference from MLB 2K9. I know this because I've seen how the developers operate over the years and they're not getting better or caring more about the games they create.

But didn't that happen with the show a couple of years ago. MLB the show hasn't always been the best baseball game on the market.

In my opinion, The Show has been the best video game representation for major league baseball since 2006.

All 2K Sports needs to do to make a decent baseball video game is CARE about the quality of it. They need to take much more pride in their work. Some of their games play like idiots made it.
