What was your opinion on the commentary in 2K9

Not me. Love me some Gary Thorn. I thought it was a bright spot for the game

I thought it was the best commentary in a game today until nba 2k10 came out. I didn't play the game for too long though because I only rented it, but I thought it flowed between Steve Phillips and Gary Thorne.

Overall, I thought it sounded great, but it did get ultra repetitive pretty fast. Before release, I recall reading that they said we wouldn't hear them say the same thing twice in a single game, but that didn't happen, and I got awfully tired of Steve Phillips rambling about how great the fan's catch of a foul ball was.

It definitely has the potential to be quite good, and for a first-year effort, 2K did a darn good job IMO.

I'm a "Show" fan but I really want 2K10 to be a solid game this year

There's nothing better then competition to make both game company's deliver their best

I'm willing to bet most sensible people feel the same way. As it is, I'm playing some HH04, ASB 04/05, OOTP 9, and The Show. I've even popped in 2K9 from time to time, because I enjoy the analog mechanics so much.

The more the merrier, IMO. I have no issue with purchasing multiple baseball games and playing them throughout the year...it will only extend the life of each for me.

I thought it was a very good change but a little repetitive. I couldn't stand the old announcers and I can hardly stand watching baseball on ESPN because it reminds me of all the hours I played of 2k7. 2k7 was a good game but the commentary was annoying

Agreed. It was refreshing.

But...

The wow wore off after the third inning, and then the second game played. It was all heard again and again. But if they can build on that, then great.

It sounded phenomenal, with its flow and pacing, but after a few games it had pretty much all been heard before.

I thought the commentary was very good but as many have stated the repetition was tedious after a while. Hopefully they embrace what that have and continue to build up the dialogue content. It took the Show a lot of years to gather what they have now. This year will be a good test on their value of commentary in the game.

Every game has commentary that is repeated. 2K does a good job of not repeating a lot of commentary in NBA 2k10, and that's where NBA today plays a big role in the commentary.

Count me with the, "Really impressed at first and love the way it flowed, but got bored with the repetition".

But, I can't hold repetition against it too much since, well, how much can you talk about in games? Plus, it's not like they could hit on current events.
