Re: Major League Baseball 2K10 Developer Insight: Franchise Mode

Great to see 2k getting the franchise mode up to par. Does it have everything? No...but it doesn't need to at this point. Playable and deep is what they should've focused on this time around and thats exactly what they did. Next year they can add the next step or two, then the next and then the next in the years to follow.

If gameplay is solid, which I expect it to be, then this game is going to be as solid as they come, and 360 only owners should be extremely pleased with the effort and excited for March.

Don't look now boys, but we have TWO baseball games to look forward to this upcoming season. Damn...what a great feeling.

    Great job 2k devs.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Same here. I'm sure it was probably just a typo if that's what was there (maybe he was thinking D-Backs so that's what got typed...happens to me all the time...lol!).

To the guy who said he preordered it. Do you get anything extra for that like some DLC.

On the flip side if you are playing a game and have built a big lead and don’t want to finish playing it all the way through, you can go to the Super Sim screen and quickly sim through to the end of the game and follow it that way.
Mmmmmmm Me like this feature. happy_face

Its exciting! Its like it was a few years ago when there was no exclusive licensing and we a crop of games to choose from and compare. MVP, ESPN, All Star Baseball, Inside Pitch..., etc.

I just hope they give it the same support as the 360.

franchise mode sounds great and alot more innovative than previous years, HOWEVER we do not know yet if it will be plagued by glitches like it is every year. Also, great franchise mode means little if gameplay is unplayable like last years game. MLB the Show is still the favorite in my book and i'm leaning in it's direction right now for my purchase but we will see.

Can't buy into the hype TOO much, but I admit I am getting excited about this game.

But.... the most important aspect of franchise wasn't mentioned in this write-up. Will we get realistic games? Or will we be subjected to 140 win teams and players launching 80 bombs?

Realistic gameplay is the most important part of this title, at least for me. If they can get this down, or at least have it so that the sliders can make it a challenging sim, I will be more than happy.
