Where can 2k10 take it to the show?

Trying to have a legitament discussion here, without this turning into a my dad can beat up your dad sort of thing. It seems kind of funny to me that 2k hasn't really capitalized on having the MLB license. Especially with us 360 only owners, you'd think it would be in their best interest and they could make a lot of money if they just released a good game.

I don't expect MLB 2k to catch up with the Show overnight as far as the little details and polish. The Show is light years ahead as far as their gameplay and details of players, stadiums, custimization etc... 2k9 did some good things however as broken and unfinished as it was. It brought to the table realtime atmosphere, commentary. I also found the control in 2k a lot more fun and intuitive. I'm not big on button mashing and meters in baseball games. I never have been. I'd much rather use the sticks if it's implemented correctly. It just feels more natural to me. I also really liked some of the animations that 2k does. As far as outfielders diving in the outfield last year, walk off celebrations etc are all a 2k strength.

My opinion is 2k needs to concentrate on what they do instead of worrying about what the Show has already done, which is create the most realistic experience. I think 2k has the ability to do that if they concentrate on ironing out the bigger details, ie getting the controls and animations to play well and sync up correctly. Getting the stadiums and player models to look and behave more realistically. I also like what i'm hearing about concentrating on the pitcher and batter duels because this is one area where the show walks all over this game. What else can 2k do to make this not only the best baseball game on the 360 but the best baseball game around?

I don't think this thread will be around long before a moderator locks it, but I'll answer your question.

I believe one of the first things that the MLB 2K series needs is a complete or partial graphics and physics engine overhaul.

IMO if 2k deliverd a lag free online experience that would catch my interest (if the core gameplay of the game was also decent). The Show's online game is literally unplayable due to lag and it's a huge window of opportunity for 2k I think. Granted I have no idea what the online demographic is for video game baseball but if they delivered that I think it would be a step in the right direction.

Heck, if 2k spruced up and "un-cheesified" their MLB Power Pros game and put some online features on that thing I'd probably be really fired up...matter of fact, I'd probably be more stoked for that then their sim attempt (MLB 2k series) because the core gameplay is actually more fun and less buggy.

        Sorry guys, not happening.

Game comparison threads never work - this is the MLB 2K Sports forum, keep it that way.
