    Officially Pre-Ordered

Though we have not received much gameplay footage, the reviews from testers has been positive enough that I went ahead and pre-ordered my copy.

Unlike most of you, I really didn't think 2k9 was all that terrible. In my opinion, 2k7 was the best of the series.... 2k8 took a step backward with some weird lighting issues, a messed up framerate, and some bugs...

2k9 improved the lighting and has a lot more signature styles, and I really enjoyed the pitching. Batting wasn't as much fun, because I could hit about 7 homeruns a game (I hit 3 homeruns with A-Rod in 4 consecutive games...).

But this year, with the addition of My Player, I think it will be a solid experience. I usually play my serious franchise on The Show (and will do so again this year) but play 2K baseball when I just want to pick up and play.

Anyway, 2k knows most people weren't happy with their game last year, and it sounds like they are working hard on it...so I'm giving them another chance

Glad you are happy with your decision to bring them back.

I am on the fence big time.... just don't know what to do. I really got excited for last year's game. Bought it, and it was misery. I just don't know if they can change their spots.

      Re: Officially Pre-Ordered

I certainly WON'T be preordering, especially not this early. Seems sad to say that it's too early when the game is only about two weeks away, but it's just too risky when you consider what game we're talking about and the lack of gameplay videos.

I really want this game to be good though. The demo and reviews will be what decides it for me.

        Re: Officially Pre-Ordered

I figure I am going to end up buying it regardless, even if I am frustrated with the recent lack of quality.

Quick question: where do you pre-order? Amazon?

          Re: Officially Pre-Ordered

I have UN-officially pre-ordered. Which means I haven't pre-ordered. Might wait on some deals or guys selling their copies after a week b/c it's not The Show or MVP.

Hope you pre-ordered from Amazon, since you get a fat head jr. and $10 off your next game purchase!

What's the difference between UNOFFICIALLY pre-ordering and OFFICIALLY not pre-ordering again?

lol...I love all the threads around this time that make formal declarations about people's purchase intentions (one way or the other). I'm honestly happy for the OP and his hopefulness/confidence (and personally hope it's rewarded with a solid game), but why each person's intent needs it's own thread is beyond me..

"NOW HEAR THIS: On this day, February 15th, 2010, I, Soxfan01605 do solemnly proclaim my intentions towards the game commonly known as MLB 2K10. I hereby declare that I may purchase said product upon confirmation of enjoyability through a preliminary trial period known as a rental. Thank you an that is all!"

Maybe he wants to be the first official 2K10 sucker when the game turns out to be a bomb.

Or the first person to believe in the series if the game turns out to be good.

I'll wait for about 3 weeks until the shine wears off and we start getting some objective reviews.

I bought nba 2k10 for the pc and 4.5 months later, I'm STILL waiting on a patch. Not going to get burned like that again.

maybe he's just talking and excited about getting the game, and there isn't a whole lot to talk about with the game 2 weeks away.

I plan to get the game on release. I might rent it first but most likely will just buy it. Now you know and knowing is half the battle. Does that make me a bad person soxfan01605?

I think people are just bored. These are video games. There's only so much you can talk about and disect. Me personally i'd rather talk about that than someone's numbers being too big. It's all ridiculous ultimately.

Maybe people just should not speak unless they can think of something truly original and intelligent to say? I tend to think there would be a lot of crickets.

Relax...lol...I wasn't accusing or claiming anyone was a bad person. My comment had nothing to do with being excited, not excited, bored, whatever. It's a discussion board...discuss away.

I just think it's funny that people create individual threads proclaiming their purchase plans when there are plenty of threads that are essentially discussing (or leading towards discussing) just that. If you're allowed to be excited, I'm allowed to be amused.

Again, I'm not disparaging discussion. I just get a kick out of everyone creating threads to proclaim their love or hate for a game (and let's face it, when it's the latter it's considered trolling). It has nothing to do with 2K or anything like that...it's one of the kicks I get out internet forums is all.
