Something I still havent seen talked about that bothered me about 2k9
Is the Opposing Manager AI. Last year, pitching changes and what not made by the CPU were terrible. I once was playing the Marlins, and saw them take their starter out after he gave up 2 runs in the 2nd, and then saw them put their closer, Matt Lindstrom, in the game for 5 innings. I really hope this issue is fixed. It bothered the crap out of me.

You never saw the Manager AI do other crazy stuff? Like leaving relief pitchers who are used to pitching only 1 inning for 2-3 innings? Even if theyve given up some runs? I saw it all the time, it was annoying.Comment

Sure I saw this in franchise but thats because there was something wrong with the stamina. The starters stamina for the computer wouldn't go back to 100% be4 there next start and the reliever were always coming in and pitching more than they had to because the starters had hit the fatigue level already.
This is one that better be fixed in the franchise. This what always suckedComment

But then, the problem was that a middle reliever like Danys Baez (whose stamina rating is inherently higher than closers) would come into the game in the fifth or sixth and end up staying through the ninth (giving up a couple couple runs or whatever).
(p.s., I've always wondered if this stuff happened in the Show. I never bothered to start a thread, but if anybody could comment, I'd be interested).Comment

Yeah, alot of people dont really talk about this, but Its actually a major gripe for me. I like to see games as realistic as possible, so I dont like seeing relief guys left in for multiple innings, especially after they've given up a run.
Ill agree with the idea that it was a stamina problem. The AI was probably programmed to take out the pitcher after their stamina got below 50 or something, which never really happened at all with a relief pitcher after 1 inning. (I would frequently take my guys out after 1 inning when they were at like 83%, but I didnt want to leave them in multiple innings because they'd be shot the next day.)Comment
