Re: Major League Baseball 2K10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (360)
Like as just one example of many, there's absolutely no way to see how stamina affects pitchers in the later innings of a game.
Keep it between only two teams, keep the only mode as quickplay, but really, to give a good impression (especially for a series that people have been iffy on for a while) you should at least give a 6 inning demo, preferably a full 9 inning game.Comment

Re: Major League Baseball 2K10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (360)
Positives and Negatives from the demo:
Positives:
- Lighting, player models, and graphics overall look slightly better
- Love game summary graphic at pause menu
- Fake ads are way better than 1,000 state farm and pepsi ads from last year
- Love the new presentation graphics. Pitch count, starting lineup, fielding lineup, entering batting box graphic, HR graphic. Wish it could be specific like ESPN or FSN, but it's unique in it's own respect
- Overall animations flow much better
- Inside edge is finally being used correctly this year. Hot/Cold
zones, hitting style (power/contact/defensive), pitching style, finally got it right after how many years?
- Love the batting view. This is debated here, but I love it. Makes it easier to read pitches IMO
- Swing analyzer! (MVP anyone?)
- Player specific chants are a nice touch. Heard at least two different A-rod ones
- I LOVE THE NEW STEAL CAMERA! Not only does it follow the baserunner, but there is a smaller camera showing the catcher in the bottom corner. What a great idea!
Negatives:
- Dirt textures on the field looks a little sloppy at times
- Still not sure about bat sounds
- Gonna take time to get used to the hitting, haven't even practiced check swinging yet
- Can't figure out the hit variety. I have complained about this since 2K6. It seems like a lot of the hits come off the bat too fast, and it makes the game play smaller. Seems like it's harder to score from second on a single, or stretch a double into a triple in this game. Anyone else see this? I'll look more into it
- Momentum physics on fielding in the infield are off. Players can be running one way, field the ball and stop and fire to first on a dime. The ball doesn't take them away to the base enough. Kinda hard to explain. Some of these animations, and the easy put out animations are a little awkward
???s:
- Won't know about commentary until game comes out. Was good last year, should be good again
- Sliders are my key concern. First game pinpointed pitches WAY too easy, (don't remember pitcher) second game was harder (Javier Vasquez). Hopefully sliders can create more foul balls, make it harder to pinpoint pitches, and do other things. We will see though...Hates exclusive licenses...

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet and I am not trying to sound like a downer or anything but I played the demo a few more times and then found out that the best buy in Cranberry PA has MLB10 The Show full game playable in their Kiosk! I figured this would be great to play that game right after this demo to compare the two and I have to say without even the slightest bit of doubt, The show is unfreaking believable. The second I hit the field it just looks and plays so real it's not even funny. 2K definately steppped up it's game but if you get a chance or have the luxury of owning a PS3 you will see what I mean. I was on the fence about possibly getting both but now there is no way I would even play 2k's game. Just giving my 2 cents and not trying to sound like a fan boy or anything. Plus I'm 40 so it would be a fan old man! lolComment

Re: Major League Baseball 2K10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (360)
Just wanted to chime in and say it was a decent demo. Had fun.
Also I don't understand the "CPU is still swing happy" comments. I'm getting anywhere from 1 to 3 caught lookings a game and a good amount of watched pitches.
Overall I'm happy and still plan on getting the gameJoshua:

Re: Major League Baseball 2K10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (360)
No one else is concerned about being able to throw one pitch down the middle EVERY time and not giving up run?
Pitching with Bastardo (62 overall) and not giving up any runs to the Yankees just throwing fastballs, middle of the plate is just wrong.
I know alot will just say "well don't do that" but I think its a good test to see if they adapt, if they hit well in their hot spots etc.
I have played about 7 games doing this with both teams and given up a total of about 3 runs.
The first game I played I mixed pitches and spots and gave up more runs.
Its not like they even hit the ball hard, and I usually get 2-3 k's a game doing this. Mostly everything that is hit is little grounders or liners to my infield. I hope its just the difficulty level. I don't think it should be easier throwing batting practice.
Other than that (which is a giant concern) I am liking what I see.Mariners Seahawks Sonics UW Sounders

Hitting is the biggest surprise for me. Ive always liked pitching but been ehh about hitting. Thats completely changed. I love the hitting in this game so far.Comment

Lasty the demo I believe is set on Pro level. Lets see what happens on a higher difficulty after game releases.....Joshua:

Re: Major League Baseball 2K10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (360)
Most people don't look for problems in the game but rather try and have fun with the game. Is it weird that that is happening? yes. I for one would never pitch like that so eh....no issue right now. If pitching realistically gives me the same problem then I'll worry about it. I'm simply not going to go to whatever links to show problems in a GAME.
Lasty the demo I believe is set on Pro level. Lets see what happens on a higher difficulty after game releases.....
I didn't know what I was doing with the pitch gestures and such....for 3-3 inning demos I threw all weak pitches...all aimed down the middle...by accident..I was trying to figure out why everything was weak, thinking I was doing the gesture incorrect each time....and gave up only one hit(a homerun to Ruiz)....
When I did miss the gesture..it was a wild pitch(thank God instead of a meatball)...
They swung at almost all my weak pitches regardless of location(except the wild and those WAAAY out of the zone)
...so it is a bit strange to see.
I chalk it up to the pro setting.

Re: Major League Baseball 2K10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (360)
Really? I've been playing this demo for a while now and there really aren't that many noticeable jaggies in the game. Maybe its partially your tv settings because the graphics look pretty smooth on my end.Comment

Then when pitching look @ the mound & tell me what you see..
I played the DEMO in both 720p & 1080p & the jaggies are there with no noticable differenceComment

Demo has been pretty awesome so far, just preordered the game now that i've been able to give it a spin. Can anyone give me any tips for timing my swing better? I have been absolutely horrid at hitting.Comment
