Re: ChaseB's MLB 2K10 Thread
I just have two simple questions, answered by basically doing one thing:
Is there an option to turn assisted fielding off?
and if not,
If you up the difficulty to AS or (whatever the highest is) does it seem like you have more control over your fielders than it does on the demo?
Thanks!

Re: ChaseB's MLB 2K10 Thread
Thanks for confirming in-game saves; big selling point for me.
How's the CPU's selection at the plate? Are they hacking away at every first pitch strike or do they work they count better this year?Currently Playing:

Re: ChaseB's MLB 2K10 Thread
I'll answer more questions tomorrow, but just wanted to say this before going to bed:
I played an online game tonight against local douche and forum admin Millennium. First, let's get this out of the way, I trounced him. As the White Sox I struck him and his lowly Orioles out 23 times with Jake Peavy.
Pathetic.
I also mauled Brian Matusz, which clearly shows he's a bust-o prospect in the making (fight me Orioles fans). I hit four home runs (all with the power swing) and won 7-0 -- a 3-run HR and a solo HR in the first being the big reasons why. I don't think anyone should jump to conclusions and think OMG there is a home-run problem or anything -- Millennium was just that bad, and I sat fastball a couple times and he paid for me guessing right.
Anyway, the performance was solid besides a slight button lag when swinging. It's small but definitely noticeable when compared to playing offline. So, you will definitely have to adjust for that, which is unfortunate. Beyond that there was no lag and the frame rate held up well. The only other thing is the presentation seems to be turned off when it comes to the introductions before the game and the batter walk-ups etc. So it pretty much just goes from pitch to pitch and cuts out all the in between stuff. I hope there is an option to change it to have full presentation, but I'll have to look into that another time.
PS, OFer throwing speeds are insane in this game. In one inning Juan Pierre was on second and had a good lead. After a bloop hit into CF I thought Pierre would score easily, but instead Adam Jones ran onto the ball -- not even from a great angle or anything -- and gunned Pierre easily at the plate.Last edited by ChaseB; 02-26-2010, 03:15 AM.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). Re: ChaseB's MLB 2K10 Thread
One question for you Chase, and its even multiple choice. How much better is 2k10 than 2k9:
A. Marginal
B. Somewhat improved
C. Significantly improved
D. Night and day. Couldn't have been improved more.
Don't read to much into the question. Just go with your first instinct.

Re: ChaseB's MLB 2K10 Thread
I have a feeling this is not in the game, but is there anyway to play the game on player/position lock?
I ask because I think it'd be fun to play through a season/franchise as one of your favorite players...so essentially the in-game gameplay would work like it does in My Player, but would be done with a real player instead of a created one.Comment

This is a bit worrisome. Do you have a direct contact at 2K? Perhaps you can bring this to their attention quickly so that it can be incorporated in the patch currently being worked on? We need realistic throwing speeds / Outfielder throwing strength. Pierre should have scored EASILY on a bloop single to Center. Are YOU concerned by this or did Pierre stumble?

Re: ChaseB's MLB 2K10 Thread
Just in case you haven't played the demo yet, I've noticed that they do a "Hip hip, Jorge" chant for Posada, "Jeter, Jeter, Jeter!" chant for Jeter, and likewise for a lot of the other players on the team. Are there position specific attributes for each position. For example, does Pujols have a defensive rating for 1B?? If that rating does exist, can you edit the 1B attribute and set it to 0 and then set his 2B attribute to 100. Does that change his primary position??
How is the crowd noise?? Are they loud/quiet when appropriate?? Do they boo/cheer when appropriate?? I guess the real question is, how is the stadium ambiance during pivotal situations??NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse

Re: ChaseB's MLB 2K10 Thread
Do the scores for other teams playing around the league update in real-time?
Last year the scoreboard at Wrigley was completely green, NO information. It looked horrible. Is that fixed this year?
Thanks for all of the info you are providing!Comment

Re: ChaseB's MLB 2K10 Thread
This question I can answer for you, it's found in the developer insight on the franchise mode:
Super Sim
I like to think I love baseball more than anyone I know, but even I will admit that the baseball season is long. Playing through a full 162-game season in a video game takes a lot of time and is a lot to ask. Like most people I hate simming through games and feeling like I have no control over my team’s performance. Super Sim is a great way to get through games during your season that you don’t particularly want nor have time to play, but still want to have some control over.
With Super Sim, you have three simming options: you can simulate one play at a time, one half inning, or one full inning. You will be able to follow along with the game play by play as you sim through it and will be able to jump into the game and play whenever you want (you can also jump back to the Super Sim screen whenever you want after you are in-game). So if you are simming a game using Super Sim and see that the game is getting heated in the late innings, you can easily jump in and finish the game, or just jump in for an at-bat or two, then go back to the Super Sim screen. On the flip side if you are playing a game and have built a big lead and don’t want to finish playing it all the way through, you can go to the Super Sim screen and quickly sim through to the end of the game and follow it that way.Comment

Re: ChaseB's MLB 2K10 Thread
Hey Chase, quick question if you could oblige. Can you turn off the fielding auto assist?
Have you seen fielders run through one another, or are there collision animations?
Thanks
If you start taking requests for pictures... maybe a Griffey Jr at bat, or just face shot would be nice.
