I can't hit to save my life.
No matter what I do I just can't hit. I'm either Too early or Too late. Contact, power, and defensive. I just can't time it. Is there a trick or do I just need to get used to it. I don't use any influence on the left stick, should I start doing that? I've hit one homerun in about 15-20 games. I strike out about 6-7 times per demo game. What's the trick?Phillies 2010 season:

Re: I can't hit to save my life.
Classic is easier, but still very tough to make contact. I haven't really tried using the L stick because I heard it was messed up anyway in the demo. I posted something about my similar problems hitting in the demo thread. I'm absolutely aweful, I just can't make contact at all.
I'm just hoping its the camera angle. I find it way too hard to guage the depth and speed of the pitch as its coming toward the plate.Comment

Re: I can't hit to save my life.
This is a major problem. Home runs are impossible to hit. You never really rip the ball. Anyone find it silly that you just swing on timing and not pitch placement? Almost like it's easy to time up and boring but the ball doesn't go anywhere. There's no way to really yank or pull an inside fastball, we have no control over itComment

Re: I can't hit to save my life.
Hitting is hard, I won my first online game by accident smacking a homerun with Billy Butler against the Tigers.
I am playing on Rookie with the batting right now (read from another thread), and it appears a lot easier. I want to avoid Classic, because I like the swing stick and think its really cool.
Here is something I did - try flipping your controller upside down, then snap back the joystick instead of snapping it forward, it makes it a little easier.
For now, I recommend playing on Rookie or mess with the sliders. I am in Drill mode and timing is almost perfected. Able to get 13/20 on Rookie opposed to the disastrous 6/20 on Pro in Plate Battle.Comment
