    PC version: modding community

I'm probably going to pick the game up on PC, but does anyone know what kind of support this is getting from the modding community, and how accessible it is for modders?

All those little extras, like changing cameras, scoreboards, stadiums, equipment, surely that's now possible with this game being on PC.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, this may end up an enjoyable game with the right support.

Thanks to all that helped with the Baltimore Orioles roster, and to N51_rob for making me an OS premium member.

Just as with with mlb 2k9, if somebody is modding the game it has to be the guys at mvpmods (will not let me post the link).

From what I read, 2K9 was not that accessible (like MVP was), they fixed color hues for the off colors on the uni's etc, and I believe ads in the stadiums. But that was pretty much it.

Maybe another year they can delve deeper. We don't know yet.

I believe MVP had a .big editor out which helped huge, 2K does not have one for their engine.

NBA 2K10 apparently has more mod support, so I'm hoping the same improvement happens here.

I'll be tinkering around when I pick up the game.

There was a good roster editor for 2k9 as well. I think people found it useful. I'm thinking about the PC version as well, if it runs smoothly on my PC.

            Re: PC version: modding community

Our modders over there did what they could last year with the game. Wasn't too much that could be changed. They did some uniform work (current & throwbacks), as well as some nice shoe/batting glove mods. Heck, even looks like 2K took a "clue" from some of their work. There was also some nice work on the bats & catchers gear.

Some cyberfaces were attempted as well.

Stadium wise, it was just changing some adds and colors as Enigma stated. Hopefully 2K left the file structures the same this year, and more progress can be made.

You can head to our Download section over there and see the kind of mods that were made last year: http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?app...ads&showcat=43

I would love for us to get to the level of modification that is done on NBA 2K for the PC.

I think the modders gave up on the game because the gameplay was so poor.

Thanks for the help lads. I'll check out the site posted and keep an eye on things with the modding.

I hope the gameplay is good enough to warrant bothering with the modding this year. Last year's PS3 demo was good, bought the full version and didn't like it, so hope it's a big improvement.

Checking out what was done on last year's now.

Yeah, like I said... we just hit a brick wall over there on what could be edited. There were not many tools/editors out to edit the 2K files with, couldn't import & work with the stadium files into any kind of 3D model program, etc...

Hopefully, some progress can be made with MLB 2K10. All-in-all, I think the guys did pretty good with what they had/could work with. Like I stated earlier, if we could get to the degree of editing that can be done with NBA 2K10... life would be good. lol

I used to make some cyberfaces and portraits for NBA live 2006 but haven't done any editing since. You think I'd be able to do some work for mlb 2k10 if I can find some good tutorials?
Or would it take forever to read all the things you have to know in order to work with the editor properly...?
