Yea...2K gives NYY so much money to spend, you might as well spend it lol. I personally love how stacked they are, and I hope it's extra tough to beat them.

        Haha, thats true.

I havent played this game in awhile, mostly because I've been addicted to Fifa. I think I'm gonna get back into it soon though.

Played around and simmed through my season... Then it auto-saved...

So I am going to have to restart my Franchise and I think I may do it with a new team. Thinking about rolling with the Pirates so I can actually face some struggles.

I am starting to play again in my season as the Rays....My record is 5-7 and currently 2 games back of the Yankees and Red Sox. Below are the current standings:

            Boston 8 - 5
            New York 8-5
            Rays 6-7
            Blue Jays 5-8
            Orioles 5-8

Beat Seattle 1-0 in 10 innings on my last game. Cliff Lee was one out away from a perfect games until Navarro hit a single in the bottom of the 9th.
Currently tied 3-3 against the Yankees, top of the 7th. (Had to save the game so I can go to work). Will keep you all updated.

              Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress

It's Yr 2: Played my 5th Halladay start last night. Was an elite matchup pitting Halladay -vs- Ubaldo in Colorado. Carlos Gonzalez lead off the game w/ a triple on an 0-2 count. Hawpe would strike out next, but Helton would ground out to second scoring Gonzalez from third in the process. Score would remain 1-0 through the 7th inning, and Halladay would limit COL to one hit through 7; only hit being that leadoff triple.

Ubaldo allowed a few hits, but they were scattered over 7 innings. He'd allow 4 hits in 7.2 innings of work, striking out 7. Halladay got into some trouble in the 8th allowing 3 hits and another run to score, and COL would win the pitcher's duel 2-0 shutting out the Phils on 5 hits. Halladay received his first loss of the season, and is 4-1 despite improving his ERA in a 2-0 loss. He has 39 K's on the year, and not a single walk...has a 1.00 WHIP.

Phillies were on a 4gm losing streak that extended to 5 w/ the loss. Since I'm simming all non-Halladay starts, I simmed to his next start @ Pitt. After getting swept by the NYM and dropping two to COL on that 5-gm losing streak, Philly got back on track w/ a 2-1 series win over MIL. Next up, the 4th place Pirates.

Yes...the Pirates are not in last place. Who is in last place in the NL Central w/ one month complete? The ST. LOUIS CARDINALS.

Coming off an NLCS oust by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2010, STL has sputtered out the gate going a disappointing 8-17. With Albert Pujols in the final year of his contract, rumors are beginning to swirl about STL moving him if the team doesn't start winning soon.

In light of this aspect I've pondered dealing Pujols to Philadelphia for Ryan Howard, and a slew of other players should STL be wallowing in last place at the deadline.

What do you guys think? I would then make Pujols the highest paid player in the game on my Phillies team, signing him to a longterm deal.

Howard's a native STL guy, and it's a move that had a little flair during Spring Training this year (in real-life). Thoughts?

The way the Redbirds are playing in your franchise, that would be a good blockbuster deal for you! I would pull that trigger because Pujols is a beast in this game. Then maybe Howard would revise some life back into STL. I say do the deal if you can, great move for both sides.

Thanks. I'll be eagerly hoping for STL's demise as I continue to play my Halladay starts .

Will definitely be pulling the trigger on a Pujols deal if they are way below .500 still.

Will check out your blog on my hm CPU.

                      Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress

Got a game in early this morning. Was Philly @ Pitt, Halladay vs Charlie Morton.

Rollins started the game off w/ a leadoff HR, finally unlocked that 30 gamerpoints achievement. 1 batter, 1-0 Philly.

Halladay got roughed up for 4 runs in the 1st inning, but would'nt allow another run to plate through 7 innings.

McCutcheon lead off the first inning for Pitt w/ a single, then Iwamura singled, moving McCutcheon to third. Doumit hit a sac fly to score McCutcheon, and Garrett Jones singled next. Then Lastings Milledge came up and hit a 3rHR over the short LF field fence to push Pitt up 4-1. Pirates would be retired in order after Milledge's HR.

Charlie Morton was all over the place, and would allow 3 BBs and 2 more HRs by the end of the 3rd; a Rollins 3r HR to tie it at 4-4, and an Utley solo HR to go up 5-4. Morton would get pulled in the bottom of the 3rd in favor of a pinch hitter.

Pitt would send Evan Meek out in long relief who pitched brillantly from the 4th - 8th inning. Meek struck out 10, and allowed only one hit, walking none. Brian Burres came on in relief in the T9th, and Philly would get 2 more insurance runs off him to push their lead to 7-4.

Ryan Madson came on to close it out in the 9th and would be very shaky. Allowing 3 hits and 2 runs to cross before getting the final out to save the game 7-6. Philadelphia will need to look for some 9th inning help because Madson, while a great setup man, seems to struggle closing games out.

JBH your sliders allow you to unlock achievements? If you dont mind me asking, what are they?

Also, I figure I should update:

Controlling all 30 teams, been playing with the Cubbies alot because I want to attempt to win a World Series with them. Currently the end of June and they're 1 up on the surprising Pirates for 1st in the NL Central. Ive propelled the Cubbies to a 10 game win streak.

Played a game with them today - @ Seattle. Erik Bedard (7-3, 3.15 ERA) vs. Ryan Dempster (4-6, 3.86 ERA)

Nothing really happened until the 4th, when the Mariners struck first with a solid 3-run inning. Franklin Guiterez (whose having a nice season) stroked a 2-run double as the big blow of the inning.

I managed to get that back though, as I would score 2 runs in the 6th thanks in part to a couple of walks and some key hits from Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez. This cut the lead 3-2.

In the 7th, Nady would come up and belt his 4th homer of the season off of reliever Brandon League, tying the game at 3. I felt like I potentially had this game in the bag if I played my cards right.

Welp, the Mariners would get 2 more off of Dempster in the 7th, thanks in part to yet another Guitierez single that would drive in the go-ahead run. Mike Sweeney would add the other run on a double into the left-center field gap.

After that I was done. Couldnt hit the relief pitcher they brought in (name escapes me) in the 8th and couldnt hit Aardsma in the 9th. 5-3 loss.

I think I'm gonna go ahead and play a game with every team in the league as my next goal, starting with the Yankees and working my way down both leagues.

                          Thinking about pulling a trade
I get: Ben Zobrist 2B/OF, TB
I give: Edagr Renteria, Mark DeRosa, and Eugneio Velez

I'm the San Francisco Giants, and I am 8 games over .500, but I need a bat to hit in my 5 spot behind Sandoval and Huff because Uribe isn't cutting it, Molina is my 8 man, Rowand is on my bench, etc. Zobrist is currently hitting .275, and has 15 hr (through 40 games), the Rays have offered me this trade and I declined at first, but now I am thinking really hard about this one. I can move Uribe to SS, and Zobrist can play LF

Adding Zorbist to an already weak lineup would definitely help you out. Just wondering, did you start your season with Pat Burrell? Either way, Having Huff, Sandoval, and Zorbist in the 3,4,5 order can create some nightmares.

I did start with Burell, but he's in my minors right now. I'm trying to get rid of Rowand (good luck right?) so I can call him up, but so far nothing appealing. Although I may take Daisuke Matsuzaka for Rowand, Wellemeyer has been struggling and Bumgarner is injured (broken LEFT arm) and Dice-K as a 5th starter would help my rotation alot. My lineup as of now (I accepted the trade) is

                              CF-Torres
                              2B-Sanchez
                              3B- Sandoval
                              1B-Huff
                              LF-Zobrist
                              SS-Uribe
                              C-Molina
                              RF-Scheirholtz

my plan is: trade for Michael Taylor (prospect on the A's) and let him, Posey and Bumgarner grow in the Minors for 1 more season, then have all 3 come up (probably trading Dice-K or Zito) and putting Taylor in RF

Any other suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!
