The developers have said that you wont be in the minors for more than a year if you do marginally well at succeeding at your goals.

Apparently 15 really good games will get you a call up. They wanted to kind of limit the minor league time.

From what I've read, in " My Player ", you won't be in the minor leagues long.

personally I think because "my plyer" wont be so hardcore ill enjoy it more than RTTS it just seems more fun

yeah i even had a ERA of .36 at the end of my first year i created my self as a closer for the cubs

As realistic as you can make it.
Fill in the full minors with correct names. Find great sliders and make roster tweaks until the sim My player stats are spot on.
Realism is customization and tinkering IMO
