Too many hard line drives hit right at infielders. Don't really see any between the infielders just between them.
I attribute that to two factors, neither of which is likely to be addressed in a patch:

      (1) The fielders are clownishly large relative to the size of the infield. Their heights and wingspans, based on the eyeball test, would be something like 10 feet. Fortunately, there's no "jump" button, so this tends to mitigate the problem somewhat, haha.

      (2) There's so much automation in fielding that fielders are right on top of any linedrive almost right away.

These are problems, but I don't consider them to be devastating problems. The only part of the infield play that really annoys me right now is the "vaccum cleaner pitcher" problem where they field like 80% of the balls hit up the middle.

It appears the patch containing the check swing hasn't been released yet, since I've tried numerous occasions and it hasn't worked. I'm wondering if 2K is delaying it in order to get some other fixes in (reducing "rocket arm" fielding perhaps?).

If an outfielder has a close play and can't make it (couple feet short) the ball flies into the glove rather than hit the ground.

I'd post on the 2k Forum, but it doesn't seem to be letting me, even after signing up and verifying the account.

In addition to things already mentioned here:
            • Remnants of the pitch count meter (part of the bar and a tiny arrow) stay on the screen a little longer after that disappears.
            • In My Player at least, even in AA, the 1st and 3rd base coaches are the ones from the minors.
            • There's no way to see which side of the plate the opposing lineup bats from, which screws up warming up for matchups.
            • It'd be nice if we could get the speed ratings of the runners in the corners of the preview windows.
            • It kills the presentation when after pinch hitting, the backup 2B (or whatever) comes out to the mound. The screen that asks you if you want to change your pitcher should come up before they walk out.
            • While it's a minor thing, there appears to be no way to bat pitcher 8th, which Tony LaRussa has been known to do at times.
            • Maybe not possible for a patch, but in future versions- ditch 2k Nav. It's the most unintuitive menu I've ever used. People shouldn't have to learn how to use a menu, it should be natural.

That's about all I can remember right now, but I know I have a few other nitpicks that would probably be easily patchable.

That's my guess. Patches are expensive, especially if you only negotiated one free one with Sony or MS. Most big bugs or problems are discovered within 2 weeks of release. They will take that feedback and patch the game for some time in April.

Have they said what was changed in the first patch yet?

I'd like to see the AI do more situational bunting, pitchers, moving runner up.

The line drives are plentiful. The rocket arms are there, but if you lower fielding, you can go from 1st to 3rd, 2nd to home, etc..... and hit doubles in the gaps.

Need to see more AI pitcher fatigue as well.

I agree that I doubt fielding cam options can be inserted now, but at least make the default so you can see more, especially on a hit/gapper.

Tone down players Arm Strength - every throw is on a rope

Tone down pitcher fielding skills - these guys are vacuum cleaners for anything near the mound

Tone down infielder skills - how many bloop hits are robbed by rocket catching infielders in the grass

players when called up from minors in franchise mode are still bald same as 2k9.

Outfielder Arm Strength - I agree with everyone. This needs to be toned down because outfielder throwing is critical in so many baseball situations: first to third, scoring from second, tagging up on a sac fly, going for a double, going for a triple, etc. Having the outfielders throw these 100mph laser beams screws up all the gameplay scenario I listed above.

There is a problem when an outfielder is going for a ground ball and for some reason it switches control off him to an infield player then the comp takes over gets the ball and stands there and wont let me switch back to him or throw the ball in which results in an inside the park hr. I lost a game that way already once. It only happened to me once.

This is definitely a problem. Hurry mode seems to always be on. It skips the batter rituals in between pitches(flash across screen), as well as some of the real time presentation stuff.

I'm scared based on what happened in NBA 2k after the second patch it might have an unwanted side effect and screw a really nice game so be careful what you ask for
It's stupid to spend $65 to cheat...play with honor but have fun..
