Anyone waiting on anything before starting a Franchise?

The slider board is like dead and didn't know if anyone was waiting on new sliders or just going ahead and starting a franchise.

2K sports...the only place where such things as errors can be "over looked" while making a baseball game.

Well I just went to start mine and now it says the 2k servers aren't responding. So now my rosters aren't updated..so I'm just gonna wait.

I really don't think you need slider adjustments! The Allstar level plays very well.

I started mine, I wish there was a way to start a franchise and then import guys into it if there is a roster update at a later date. For example, the Mets have two Japanese pitchers who won't be in the game until they play in a MLB game, instead of creating them or waiting until a roster update, I wish I could start now and when they appear in an update, just import them into the franchise. Luckily we are able to edit guys once the franchise is already started

Hey people, if you are thinking of starting a franchise and haven't done so already, make sure to visit MLB Today and it'll download the latest roster with many many moves. IT even worked for PCversion I got. Woot

Waiting on Opening Day, so playing online a little and still learning to hit, might start a fantasy franchise in the mean time.

Re: Anyone waiting on anything before starting a Franchise?

I heard a lot of people complaining about the roster, but honestly, I played with the Twins after DL'ing the Living Roster, and it looked pretty darn good. They had FA signings and trades made just in February. And while I'm sure the minor leaguers are all wrong, 2k's never going to get that completely right, and even if you get the names in there, it's not like you're going to know on April 5th how good a rookie will be in August or October.

I think you can edit minor leaguers, so I'll take the list of Top 40 prospects for my team and do some editing so those guys are in the system. That should be sufficient.

I assume that I can adjust sliders and difficulty mid-franchise, so I'm probably going to start up on Pro and just tinker if I begin to dominate games.

I'm just waiting on a roster that has minor leaguers, and I can edit the batting stances. And I might start tinkering with some sliders as well. The game plays pretty well on All-Star, but it could use some tinkering.

You can't hit on All-Star level. No power at all, can't even imagine how many guys will go homerless in a lineup. Too many K's. All-Star isn't sim baseball I don't think. I wish you were right

Do you guys think they will update the player pictures with roster updates? I know its minor but its kind of dumb seeing griffey in a reds hat, considering he played for the mariners last season.

Before you give your franchises a go, guys, I would suggest you give these two threads a look. Lots of issues iwth FAs and contracts that might put a hurting on your "fun factor" after each season.

Highly doubt it. If they didn't do this during the development cycle they're likely not going to patch it. Pedro still has a Mets cap too...

The minor league is all sorts of screwed up, I am almost positive prospects do not match up to their real life counterparts. Dominic Brown is nowhere to be found on Phillies, I am just going to edit them myself. I am currently playing on Pro with CPU Contact @ 65 and Power @ 55.
