    how is the hit variety?

I will most likely buy both the Show and this game regardless (baseball games are pretty much the only games i play nowadays) but how is the hit variety? From some impressions I read and the videos I've seen on youtube, it seems like hits are either bloop/soft linedrive single that falls in shallow outfield or they are homerun. Please tell me doubles and triples are not rare?

It's rather few and far between, especially with grounders. The tappers feel like squibbers, and you don't really see too many high-choppers, or things that the infield won't suck up. Doubles and triples are possible, but lowering the fielder running speed is a must (though I think that disables player cards unfortunately).

I wish the throwing speed was much slower as well.

To phrase for him, hot variety is poor and unrealistic. They whiffed on that

Hit variety is a reason of concern for me too. I agree, bloopers, soft line drives and home runs is all I can see.

Yeah, it's not that good. Turning down fielder speed helps but this needs some improvement.

haven't seen much of an issue as others. I have played like ten games now and I have seen a realistic amount of doubles and a few triples. I mean I'm not sure what people expect, this is baseball, there aren't tipples every single game and for that matter there are games eve without doubles.

What are guys excepting, 10 doubles and 5 tipples a game, if I saw that I wouldn't even play, for me, you must earn those hits, they are there trust me, you can even get those type of hits using the defensive swing.

Triples should be rare in baseball FF as teams only average 32 triples over 162 games last season. That's roughly one triple every 5 games per team.

However, doubles are much more common place. The MLB average was 291 over 162 games. That means each team should be getting almost two doubles a game.

I don't need triples and doubles, but the gameplay feels bottled in this area.

Same type of squibbed ground outs and limited amounts of fly balls deep and to the gaps. Line drives don't feel like scorched line drives ever. No baltimore chops either. Same as last year it seems.

I'm actually starting to see more, a game I played with the Brewers yesterday had a ton of hits down the lines (both opposite field and pull).

I'm still having trouble generating a lot of offense but I was getting some nice hit variety last night.

Im with FF on this, I played and touched nothing out of the box, and for me hitting seen plenty of variety of hits down the lines, hard doubles in the gaps up the middle through and through the holes.

Im worried lowering the fielding speed its going to up my Hits a upsurd amount.

I think the people that are saying hit variety is poor are referring to trajectory mostly and types of hits - not necessarily doubles or triples.

What some people are sayin' is most hits look the same, so there isn't much variety.

The hit variety is fine for me. I only played two full games yesterday but, I saw an insane amount of hit variety. The CPU was pretty powerless though. I raised their power and contact before I went to bed last night, so I'll test out the new changes today.

Well, when the NHL patch came out, they toned down 1 timer shot speed in front of the net, so maybe we'll see something in the first patch. The question is when will they do that patch. 2K isn't known for their alacrity.
