I haven't played the full 2K10 product yet either, but do I really need to in order to rate the graphics between it and 2K7? I have sampled the demo but in my honest opinion, 2K7 has a pretty slight edge in graphics, and that's due to the player models being WAY more accurate in body proportions. None of those tree trunk thighs and calves, more variety in body sizes, more realistic flowing jerseys and pants, smoother(tho not as many)animations, and presentation that still amazes me today(the #4 train at Yankee Stadium intro was DEAD-ON accurate). The only things that held it back was the 30 fps,the lack of animations, and some slightly off faces. I just can't give 2K10 the crown when there are still some off-putting animations and body models(IMO) and the 2d crowds in the upper decks, despite the fantastic lighting.

Phobia's argument was about gameplay. And to that point, Pared is right. If you're going to say 2K7 PLAYED the best vs a demo of 2K10, yet then admit that it was due to slider tweaks, then the argument doesn't hold... you can't tweak sliders in a demo.

You're right, I didn't catch the whole scenario of the post. As it stands 2k10 plays head and shoulders better than 2k7(tho it wasn't bad by any means). I just wish they would have built upon the 2k7 graphic engine and improved it from there into the gameplay we have today. But that's another topic altogether....

I will add that Visual Concepts had nothing to do with the core game. The game was entirely developed by Kush Games.

While the superiority of graphics can be argued, the one area that 2K7 excels without debate is details. The frustrating element of 2K10 to me are the little things are glaringly missing. The bats, gloves, cleats have no identity. The dust clouds this year are slightly better than the joke that was in last years game. The infield grass looks more tie-dye than freshly manicured dirt/clay.

Does this take away from gameplay. No, but yes. More so than any other sport, baseball is visual, and with so many visual details absent, it gets hard to ignore while playing.

I just played through the last four editions of MLB 2K and graphically (more on details than framerate), 2K7 is unmatched. Would I sacrifice 60 for 30 in regards to framerate? No. But a middle ground should be there. It's inexcusable for 2K10 to miss so many little details that make the game of baseball such a visual masterpiece. It's been done before in the series, why can't it be done now? Gameplay doesn't have to be sacrificed for bats to look like bats, etc.

2k7 had the best graphics up until now. I like 2k10's look. I have only played the demo on both PS3 and 360 (I have the full versions of 2k7,2k8(ps3) 2k9(360))

I would say that PS3 MLB2k10 graphically looks to be the best of the bunch.

Yes, you are right. I'm glad someone mentioned this because I get tired of correcting the misinformation with who developed what baseball title for 2k.
