Anyone break up a double play?

I ask because by now we are all familiar with the CPU takeover of user players at an alarmingly early instance. I noticed that if a CPU infielder hits the bag (second base) to turn a double play, my runner usually slows down to a stop, "giving up on the play" instead of trying to go into the fielder. Is there a distance sensor which kicks out of this animation to allow breakup slides? Haven't seen one yet and hoping it wasn't left out.

yep i've seen it 3 or 4 times with a couple different animations so far. But yeah I'm really starting to hate how fielding just seems to be run to a spot and let the cpu do the work. I can't for the life of me forsee a situation where I can actually dive for a ball and have a shot at it.

You have to be near the bag otherwise the animation will not engage.

I've broken up a couple and also had a couple that weren't quite broken up (infielder goes flying but completes the throw).

I just saw 4 or 5 collisions at 2B in the game I just played. A few broke up the double play.

I've broken up double plays a few times as well.
